Understood. Thank you. Representative Burks, you are recognized. So just so I can understand properly, are there any other industries uh under atrs where the teachers retirement provides membership to private individuals or
out of the bill, majority 51. Representative Brown has explained the
amends 20 very 20 various sections of the code the then section 7 dealt with the Arkansas Ethics Commission. Well, that Arkansas Ethics Commission was established by Initiated Act back in, I believe, 1990, which would have required a higher threshold. So we recalled the bill, the bill was recalled, we expunged the vote, Representative Brown put an amendment on that took that section out, and it went back through committee and it's here today.
this bill was originally presented it she it acquired 61 votes and was called pass we sent it to the Senate and it was discovered this bill
photos to be used by law enforcement in courts. Currently they can only be disclosed by the driver's approval. I'd appreciate a good
cleans up Arkansas motor vehicle and driver record laws to ensure that privacy protections while still allowing access for law enforcement and other authorized entities. This bill aligns Arkansas law with federal regulations resolving a conflict where our current law treats these records as accessible to the public while federal law requires stricter protections. SB 498 also streamlines the process by creating one consistent standard across the code for releasing these records and lastly it allows the digital driver's license
bill. Yes, thank you for the warm welcome everybody. Thank you Mr. Speaker. SB 498 is a bill from DFNA that
didn't know a sales tax was going out, and so there's a lot of finger-pointing going on, and so we lost $3 million because of it. So all this bill does is say, DF&A shall notify the quorum court 120 days before the expiration of a sales and use tax. So that's pretty much it. Members, any questions? Seeing none, I have no one signed up
is one we also can take a vote on. Thank you. Good morning, everybody. Brad Hall, District 24. This bill is pretty simple. In my county, we had a new county judge come in. We had a new county treasurer come in, and the old county judge, the old county treasurer
bill. Thank you, Speaker. House Bill 1919 is just the companion bill to SB 572 which we passed yesterday with 78 yes votes. There's no fiscal impact. The bill requires no action. It simply protects schools from violating copyright laws by granting access to learning materials. With that, I ask for a good vote. Representative
it's on I forgive me I'm not sure where exactly each three of those bills are we just got the letters but it'll continue where they are if you do not send send those back but it was our understand and I guess it was the understanding that it was done with the understanding of all parties involved and I believe a Representative Mayberry was
life well it will consider what each one with the objection will consider each one of these individually if you don't send one back we will proceed as on course that
wonder what we do at 830 every morning, that was it. We just don't have a withdrawal calendar, members' own calendar after today, so those bills that want to go to interim study, we sent. So in the future, if you're around at 8.30, we take care of those matters most mornings under the direction of House management. All right, we
amended on the rule that would that would be the rule the rule of the chair the chair would have to rule in that situation
in reviewing your request at this time the rule simply states their fiscal impact that would be provided and looking quickly it appears that there is is one but your concern is that the bill has been amended right so the bill in front of us has been amended
here today, if someone wants to go back up top and run that. I believe it's just a ... They're a baseball team. Yeah. I was just wondering if we could ... Is it okay to match?
Roberts typically is geared more to business, nonprofits, for-profit organizations. And then you have the Jeffersonian Manual, which kind of, I guess you'd say, without starting an argument, birthed all of the subsequent ones. and it's used from time to time in D.C., but now presently the House and the U.S. House uses Roberts, but we've always, as far back as I can tell, the Arkansas House and Senate have referred to Masons.
stepping on the sponsors, Bill, and Toes, we've always used Masons. Masons is geared more towards governmental entities, and most, and I have the stats upstairs, There's 99 legislative bodies across the state because Nebraska has the one body. They only have one legislative body. And roughly 70% use Masons because it's geared more to that.
If I may. Yeah. Yeah. Recognize. Thank you, committee and Mr. Chairman. In doing some work and without
If it had been passed, which it was defeated, it would have needed 54 votes for the emergency clause to be enacted, which makes it effective upon the signature of the governor. So we typically say when there's an emergency clause, your one vote is for the bill and the emergency clause. But if you don't hit the threshold for the emergency clause, the bill can still pass, and then we would have turned immediately and considered the emergency clause. We just got a little quick there and just wanted to make you aware that that could have happened. But the bill was defeated, so no harm, no foul.
