Members, I'm a member down at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. I'm
sure you all all have driven by there it's the church that's just a block north of the governor's mansion you're always very welcome. We want to be a good neighbor to the whole neighborhood in downtown LittleRock into the city of LittleRock. today we have the reverend Andrew Mcilan.ifferent churches handled this different ways but in theeppiscopalhurch the members of the church call their own pastors and we call them rectors in theeppiscopalhurch
and for a cathedral we call it the dean but anyway I was on the the search team, the search committee that called Andrea to be the the new dean and rector at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and she born and raised in LittleRock, went off to do the Lord's work in other parts of the country had a tremendous career and we are thrilled to pieces to have called Andrea home back to LittleRock. She's going to be a tremendous leader for our church and help us do the things I was talking about by being good neighbors to those in our neighborhood and the city of
LittleRock so y'all please join me in welcoming our dean and rector Andrew McMillan today. thank

their staffs and the people they represent strengthen
Speaker 33
9:06
these elected officials in their work steady them in moments of pressure and surround them with patience, insight and a spirit of cooperation. as your scripture teaches us to do justice to love kindness and to walk humbly with our God. Let these not be distant ideals but the very shape of their work this day. in a world of competing voices and urgent demands give them
wisdom, courage, clarity of mind and generosity of spirit. help them to seek what is just, compassionate and lifegiving May their shared labor be marked by integrity, mutual respect and a genuine commitment to the common good bless their deliberations this day. May their words be measured, their disagreements respectful and their decisions continually guided by a deep sense of responsibility to every person in this state especially those most vulnerable.
I pray that you will sustain their families and all who support them and remind us all that the work of governance is at its heart an act of care for one another. we ask this in the spirit of wisdom, peace and service in the name of God who created us and the Holy Spirit who sustains us. Amen the of America

the floor Members today excuse me today is neworp Day in the state of Arkansas. Neworp has been here39 years thathen come on up with me. it has made a difference in Arkansas especially made a difference in Mississippi County. you all may not know this but
Mississippi County is the largest steel producing county. We produce the most steel of any county in the

like I said we produced over 13 uhcent of of our nation's still production and they have spent over5 billion dollars in
Arkansas upgrading and modernizing their equipment and plants in the last five years they devote 10% of their earnings every year to be paid back to their employees in the forms of bonuses and their average salary for their their teammates is above $100,000 so it has been a difference in the delta of Mississippi County and Craekhead Poinshead and and the other counties surrounding that.
I'd like to allow Zach Moon who is a joint manager ofottamoto and Johnhuodden to spend just a couple of minutes and tell you about what they're doing and tell you about their company, see thank you sir thank you

President. Senators I ask leave for members of Senator Lou Hardin's family to join us today on the Senate floor for the presentation of Senate memorial resolution 2. Thank you. with us today we have his wife Mrs Mary Harden, his son Scott Harden as maybe he knows a spokesman for DF andA and his son-in-law Aaron Brooks. thank y'all for joining us Senators did not get to serve with Lou Harden but he was my
friend for over40 years. and I can tell you when I was either a lobbyist or a person in just a general citizen. he was someone I could always count on. I could walk up and go talk to him. I could call him off the floor and he represented Russellville at the time but he later served our state as the under governor Huuckabee as the director of the department of higher Education and then was later chosen by the trustees at the University of Central
Arkansas to be their president and and for those of you that don't know some of my younger colleagues UCA went from being kind of a regional college university to being the powerhouse university that it is now the enrollment was exponential increase the programs everything that that Lou Harin touched was a class and was done in such a
successful manner and I I wish we could clone him. I wish we had more people in this state but he always was a wonderful Christian gentleman who knew his business when he was in the Senate when he was at higher education and when he was at UCA we lost him way too soon but it was a great honor of my life to have knownlou and worked with him in different variable situations so at this point I
would ask the Secretary of the Senate to read Senate memorial resolution 2
