Meeting — April 1, 2011 (16:34)

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Dr. Abernathy, I'm of the opinion that homeschooling in Benton County is very successful. That is an opinion. I don't have any data to back that up. Is there any data available five and ten years down the road that compares failures in homeschooling to failures in public school? I do not have that data, no. Thank you. Ms.

Meeting — March 31, 2011 (5:59)

Very disappointed. I'm disappointed in the leadership. I'm disappointed in every part of it. It makes no sense to anyone other than partisan politics. Thank you. Okay. Representative Summers

Meeting — March 31, 2011 (5:27)

We've had many people talk about how partisan this session has been. Wow, is this not partisan? Let's call it what it is. Let's don't call it that it's good for the 4th District or it's good for Pebble or it's good for anybody. I've got family in Pebble. I've got friends in Pebble. They're not for this. This is nothing but partisan politics. Again, I know I won't change anybody's vote, but I want to be on record that I'm very disappointed in this process.

Meeting — March 31, 2011 (4:56)

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, and I don't think my words are going to convince anybody to do anything different. But I've got a right to express my opinion down here. And I'm going to do that very briefly. I'm really, I saw this come out in the paper. I saw monkeys come out in the paper and I saw twins come out in the paper. Nothing about baseball. I was absolutely amazed. I mean amazed that this was a possibility.

One is the rank in high school class, and the other one is leadership in school and community and employment. It says some Arkansas graduates are at a disadvantage under the current ranking system for the governors. It still takes in the high school grade point average, the ACT or SAT, and it was felt that this puts some of the youngsters or students that are working or come to a disadvantaged background at a disadvantage in applying for these scholarships, and I'd appreciate a good vote. Thank you.

Meeting — March 30, 2011 (2:45:11)

recognized for this your bill. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. This bill addresses the Arkansas Governor's Scholar Program. Hopefully it'll be a little better offering than my last attempt. This amends the Arkansas Governor's Scholar Program, strikes out two of the required rankings.
