Now yeah Thanks nail for your report. I there's two things one one is i'm old enough to remember when uh teachers did draw an employment for one summer and it was about 1972 73 there was some kind of loophole in the law and uh they got that fixed right quick i don't remember what happened but number two over what senator chesterfield said i was just curious about uh aren't the non-certified

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Oct. 8, 2019 (38:09)

the state of Arkansas. Yes. Okay. Okay, so you mentioned EdBuilt, and that's, is that a national, that's a national program, isn't it?

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Oct. 8, 2019 (37:53)

you, Mr. Speaker. I think it's a pretty simple question. Dr. McGee, you mentioned that basically you just work in Arkansas. Is that true? That's what you said earlier?

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Nov. 21, 2019 (49:14)

And so I just wanted to emphasize that. And two is, my perspective is we blame the teacher a lot when the bottom line is that the person is accountable himself. It's just like Linda said, they're competing on a world market and they've got to answer for themselves. And we've got to put more emphasis on that. And I know all these things are simple, maybe foregone, like I say, foregone conclusions, but I just, I wasn't planning on saying anything, but I thought, you know what, we don't really broach that subject of control and discipline, so I just want to put my two cents worth in.

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Nov. 21, 2019 (48:43)

some of them read some of them yeah they they have good they do well but uh you know once they getting eighth grade they're allowed to be put somewhere else and not in school and those kind of things and so uh i just want to say that because it uh we've got to back the teachers you know and and you know what i know a lot of people think well this that's just a foregone conclusion no it ain't not if you're facing 25 or 30 of those yahoos it's not a foregone conclusion

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Nov. 21, 2019 (48:11)

teacher the one thing that's left out most of the time is teachers and or coaches or administrators they've got to have control if we don't give them control we don't you don't have diddly if we don't whatever we put in if we don't give if we don't give them an opportunity to discipline we're not going to have diddly these these people that joyce mentioned uh you know you can talk to

Education Committee - Senate & House Meeting Jointly with Advanced Communications & Information — Nov. 21, 2019 (47:40)
