committee. I've got a few things I'll just go over and then we'll open up to questions if that's ok with y'all so you have before you the report for the board of examiners of alcoholism and drug abuse counselors small board they meet monthly as about 12 members they license about 172 individuals under80 it fluctuates a little bit the number is like I said it fluctuates sometimes it you know from year to year it may go up one or two but not growing
extremely fast some of the things that the board has done recently to increase the number of individuals in this field is working with the various college campuses to hold meetings there and awareness events but also sponsoring com continue education and workforce development meetings with the colleges and and prospective students to educate them on what the what the counselors do in this field
as far as the timeline to get someone licensed like I said they meet monthly so that's a pretty quick process the number of CEs required is in line with other states around us so nothing really out of the ordinary there . I'm happy to take any questions y'all have or address any issues members are there any questions

thank you thank you guys for presenting this and taking questions today I read through the the questions that were attached with your exhibit there was a discount that you guys offered for the renewal fees in 24 and I think you extended it into 25. could you just maybe share with us the the why you came to the decision to make the discount
Speaker 45
9:35
and if you think you're going to keep doing that moving forward we made the
Speaker 34
9:40
discount because we home inspectors were building up quite well more than a threeyear
fund balance the the funds have now been combined into one but yes sir we want it we look at that every January. we've reduced appraiser fees for a number of years and if we can we hate as I've said we hate to they they'd look at it every year to make sure that the division won't be underfunded at any point. we do that for all three of our divisionsollow Mrir go
Speaker 47
10:17
a65 dollars discount for for every fee or is it just the renewal fee? It is
Speaker 34
10:22
just the renewal fee. if we also eliminated late fees for reinstatements and several other smaller fees like address change fees and things like that as well. then that's what I was going to follow up with.
Representative Ryan A. Rose
Unverified
10:34
I was looking at your fees and penalties and I was just curious if the65 dollars discount on the renewal
were there other discounts or did any of the other fees penalties, renewals etc. did those increase stay the same discount
Speaker 34
10:50
the65 dollars discount is just for renewal fees. So we eliminated some of the small fees that the board had charged. so as far as penalties those are set by disciplinary case and on that exhibit three you
Representative Ryan A. Rose
