I appreciate that. And I applaud you for bringing this. We need choice. However, I think we need open choice.
and that district is not continuous to the district they're currently in, And would we not be then discriminating against that student and that parent? Well, I guess
one bill. Well, except for the situation if they're not in a continuous geographical district. Except for that. Okay. So if you have a parent that one of the reasons they want their child to go to a different school is for some academic reason, perhaps another school district can offer some form of classes, whether it's AP or whatever,
going to the state. So, in your bill, you defined race and you defined nine other reasons. What about if there's something outside of those nine reasons to represent Carnine's point? Is that not discrimination to those parents? I don't
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Representative Hammer, in the context of your bill, who do you think makes the decision on which school a student goes to? I
study period here. Would that be unreasonable? Because the real issue is closing those facilities. Well, again, I think,
and certain other levels at those facilities, any scenario, they could stay open for a period of time? I guess in
it out with Representative Viviano. And, Dr. Kimbrell, you know, the main concern here is closing of facilities in small communities, and I can understand that. Do you have any proposals or suggestions of that if a consolidation still occurred at the administrative level
the property. Thank you. Thank you Madam Vice Chair. Representative Biviano. Again I would pose my question about time frame if there is no specified time frame they make it available for sale and won't have to be defined that the school has
act and then that entity went ahead and either sold it or disposed
is that we don't, some school district that I have in a legal battle because certain conditions weren't met they want to get the property back but they didn't
that concern from 1310. Thank you. Thank you, Representative Carnot. Representative Viviano. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. And Representative Link, is there any timeframes associated with once that entity decides they're going to sell it or dispose of the asset, is there a timeframe associated with which the school district must act?
There's no funding to it now, but this sets it up. If we ever have any federal funds, it could be applied for by those entities. Any questions? Thank you. Representative
Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Senate Bill 125, sponsored by Senator Pierce in the Senate. This was passed last year, about two years ago, excuse me, dealing with only school buses. It expands it to school buses, school districts, county, city governments, state governments, and businesses. It's to convert gas and diesel-powered vehicles into CNG or propane.
under 8,500 pounds. It also caps an $8,000 grant for gross vehicles that go between 8,500 and 14,000 pounds. And the third vehicle is a $20,000 cap on vehicles that weigh more than 14,000 pounds and 26,000 pounds. And the fourth category is anything over 32,000, excuse me, 26,000 pounds will be a $32,000 cap on the conversion of the grant. I'd appreciate a good vote.
If there's ever federal grants to give incentives to move gas and diesel-burning trucks and fleet vehicles over to compress natural gas or butane. This will allow it. And when we got out here, we got a due pass as amended in the Ag Committee, and here's what the amendment says. They got out here and found out they didn't have the language on the vehicles. There's four fleets of vehicles that they wanted to identify. It caps out a $5,000 amount to be granted to vehicles that are
to explain the amendment. Colleagues, this is Senate Bill 125. Bobby Pierce sponsored this last year in the House, dealt with just school buses. It's been added by the compressed natural gas people and butane people that they wanted to add companies, city and county, state governments, any companies that qualify as corporations. There's no funding on this right now.
Brief follow-up to that. Would the non-Arkansans be eligible for the education reimbursement? Well, no body
Thank you for that explanation. Is there any provision in the project that would require a certain percentage of Arkansans to hold the jobs?
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Grant, you guys have done a good job in this document and putting together the parameters of the project. Could you elaborate a little bit different on the total cost of the state? We know what the bond costs are going to be or project with the interest, but when you add all the other incentives, local cost, education, do you have some information to tell us kind of what the
