to apply for a waiver to use tips okay give
Speaker 25
5:03
us a brief description of what it's we would like to do a turf project on our football field we have a terrible situation with our drainage it has collapsed and it's going to cost us quite a bunch to fix that so we would we've gotten some donations from the
community and we'd like to just go ahead and turf
Representative Jeff Wardlaw

5:23
it okay it looks like I have question from representative wardlaw you're
recognized thank you and you said smack over correct yes sir can you give me the breakdown on the funding on the project um
i just don't personally like to use education dollars on football fields so i'm curious to hear how many donations and how
Speaker 25
5:40
that's playing out yes sir we've started a buckaroo foundation to which we've already had a half a million dollars uh pledged to our to our foundation um and the way
we're doing it i'm actually leaving here if this goes well to meet with mr ray beardsley We're going to do 10 years, so our payment's going to be $100,000 a year, which the foundation will make a donation every year
Representative Jeff Wardlaw
Unverified
6:01
to make sure that's paid. So the foundation will pay for the turf, not any funds from state or local tax dollars to the turf? Currently, that's the plan, yes, sir,
Representative Jeff Wardlaw
Unverified
6:15
this at home. I participated. I was one of the donors for 10 years, and one of the ways we did it,
We sold it as you pay $2,000 a year, you have your name put on the turf, and so on. And most of our donors came through on that. And the ones that didn't, the foundation was able to fill the
Speaker 25
6:34
gap. So that's the reason I'm asking. Yes, sir. I mean, the school understands that in the event that we don't have, that we have a donor that doesn't come through or that we will have to spend some of that money, which we have budgeted for the next 10 years to account for. But like I said, currently we already have half of the funding already pledged,
and we're talking to two large – I don't know if they want me to use their name, but we're talking to two large plants in East Camden right now that are possibly going to
Representative Jeff Wardlaw
Unverified
7:04
help us too. You may want to contact Representative Les Warren. I mean, he's an alumni and fairly wealthy in Hot Springs
Speaker 25
7:12
and probably be a donor. Okay. Thank you. Trust me, I'm beating down any
Senator Ben Gilmore

door of anybody that will say yes. When you speak to Representative Warren, be sure to use Representative Wardlaw's name. Senator Rice, you're recognized.

Senator, is there a possibility that school might have to pick up something at the same question? How many bids did you get for this? Three. Okay,
thank you. All right. Any more questions? Seeing none, what's the will of the committee? I have a motion. I have a second. Any discussion? Seeing none, all in favor. say aye any opposed eyes have it thank you thank you all right members moving on to item C if you recall this is as a result of legislation that was passed to
encourage city governments to move to using a dot gov I think we have the presenter via Nate Schimmel joining by teams so we'll see if we can get that pulled up
Senator Ben Gilmore
Unverified
8:33
you Bear with us as we figure out some technical difficulties.
Representative Jeff Wardlaw
Unverified
9:38
So, members, apparently, the link crashed for the teams for Mr. Schimel to join. So I think Representative Leidyman has offered to present, if you would. So we'll let him present on behalf of Jonesboro. And if you would, Representative, recognize yourself for the record.
Representative Jack Ladyman

Representative Jack Ladyman, District 32, which is the city of Jonesboro. You're recognized. I'm not real familiar with the details of this, but I get a bill from these folks every month, so I'm fairly familiar with them. But no, the law that we passed said that all, they had to have a .gov domain.
is that all utilities is that right yeah municipal government basically municipal government okay so they will do that for their main web page and all the other communications except the billing if you look at the document that they that we have in the folder they have automated billing they have a lot of customers be very expensive to do that so they would like to get a waiver
to, to, uh, for not making their billing dot gov and maintain their current. All right.
Representative Jeff Wardlaw
Unverified
11:14
Thank you representative. Additionally, I think some of the issue arises with the software they're using to bill and there might be an issue with it being able to communicate well with a dot gov email as I understand was is, is that also as you understand represent? Yes. Okay. um any questions for the representative
see none what's the will of the committee i'd make a motion do pass i have a motion do i have a second i have a second uh any discussion seeing none all in favor say aye aye any opposed eyes have it all right members see no other business unless there is some business uh i will entertain well i'm just going to adjourn thank you for your time
