Thank you Mr chair Kurt Nauman legislative liaison secretary of state's office that did you hear my question yes I did actually let me just give you a little bit of background there were a few senators that came to our office with concerns about the online financial reporting system and we have heard from other members that it is at best a very user unfriendly System the just to say the least we were a requested to look into the system and to improve it and we've just begun analysis now to look into the contract which will actually expire this year so this is a great time it was a five year contract that is up what we would like to do is probably talk to this Senate pro tem and the Speaker and do a survey of members to find out just exactly what the problems are so that we can better diagnose and look at the system get with the vendor if the vendor is not able to completely either fix the system overhaul the system replaced the system then we will likely go back out for bids and get a system that is a little bit more user friendly less cumbersome we put in an appropriation now what is cash appropriation it is on funded a once we do an assessment of the system what we hope to do is come back before peer and find a funding source and then make those improvements I thank you very much I really appreciate that much needed. Senator Johnson you're recognized for a question. I've introduced a bill yesterday to kind of for lack of better word create a bridge to that. Wonderful day when we'll have a very high and software system it'll will basically looser rules on filing paper and also allows to file electronic versions of paper like a PDF the equivalent of add this to Mister Norman about this and they've been very cooperative and acknowledge the problems with the system he also told me that when this was set up there was one vendor in the country that could provide this in now they're half believe incorrectly wrong the seven or something like that there's there's several of them that can provided I'm confident they'll find a very good system to replace it but and I don't remember I'm sorry Senator I don't remember the number of the bill that I filed yesterday but it it would give us sort of a bridge to where we can actually get a reports done in a timely manner and accurately I I know my carryover is wrong and the other one would be able to fix it is with the paper system so if I hope that answers at least some of your concerns and I certainly please talk to me about anyway we might be able to prove improve that bill for our interim time until they're up and running with something new and better.
