Chairman. Item B is a request for a surrender
pool position from Arkansas State Police at the Department of Public Safety. They're requesting to surrender one corporal position in return for one ASP captain position. The request is due to the need for relief in their supervisory titles and help create more effective supervisory ratios for oversight and support. Because this is a one-for-one surrender, the total number of authorized positions does not change. The expected cost of the swap is roughly $42,000 due to the previous position having been vacated in August. OPM has recommended the position swap.
