that would be a really good thing to do, do you think that she could not on her own go ahead and say this is what we're going to do children this is the way it's going to be every day rather than mandating and putting another law on our
Yes, ma'am. Do you think that since you're only involving one minute, that if the teacher deems that
and I think it would be wonderful if everybody would just smooth out and do that, but I don't want to add another thing to any teacher to have to work on discipline on. When you're asking for the silence, are you, is it going to be asking absolute, total, be still, silent, and is she going to have, or he going to have to stand up as a guard to do that?
silent, and I think it was like, I can't even remember how much time we were required to do that, but if it was like 15 minutes, it was 15 minutes of browbeating and hard looks and stuff, you know, to try to make them stink on target. I don't know. I love the concept,
to talk to you about it, and I don't think we ever got around to that conversation, but I taught school back in the cave days when we did that thing with the sustained silent reading, and I don't know if anyone else in here remembers that or not, but I do, and it turned into one of the most problematic times of the day to try to make students be

And I just think we need to do what we can at this point. I have a deep concern for them. Yes, ma'am, I understand. Thank you. And now my question is, do
I have nothing to say about that, but we all know a lot of it is not. And for those who are not diligent in it, you've got to look at families that they still have to go make a living, so they can't stay home and do that classroom the way they should. And those are children that's going to fall between the cracks. I just feel like that our hands are tied, and more and more we're not able to watch for our rural families and rural children.
I'm sorry. How am I? I understand. Well, the parents in these rural districts, they have to make a choice. Say they don't want to put their school gets consolidated, and they don't want to put their children on a bus for even longer hours to get to school, where they're spending a large part of their daylight hours on a school bus, and they don't want to do that. So they can have a choice. They can homeschool them, and a lot of the homeschooling is very diligent.
Okay. Okay. I just see this as an opportunity to speak up for not only our rural students, but our rural families. As numbers fall and more rural schools are consolidating, I've got so much to say that I can't even put it together here.
Chair. Dr. Kimbrell, at the end of this, I will have a question.
And if he is, how does he have the right
