Introduce yourself and where you're from, and then you may begin. Thank you, Madam Chair. Representative Jason Nazarenko, I'm from, uh, North Central Arkansas, uh, District 4 is my district. Uh, it's all of Marion County and then, uh, Southern Baxter County. Today I bring to you a House resolution 1021. It's, uh, to recognize the Yellowville Summit Panthers girls track and field team is a 2024 Class 2A state champions. I'm not gonna go through and read the entire resolution. I, I would like to highlight a few items on here though. Uh, the Yellowville Summit Panthers grills track and field team. 1, the class 2A state champion. Uh, this is the 4th year in a row, uh, that they've won it. And one of the other things that I'd really like to highlight is that they perform their track and field without a uh facility without a field facility at their school. They, they run at the city park. Uh, that's what they've done for all the years and uh you can see on the resolution that Their coach, Coach Martin, she had stated, we don't have the best facilities, but that doesn't hold us back. We're going to work hard every day that we can. These folks are really, uh, very, very uh persevering. You can tell by their spirit, uh, they come every year and give it a 100% and uh I just asked for a good vote. Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, I don't see anyone signed up to speak for or against the resolution. Are you closed for your resolution? What's the will of the party the party will of the committee. Motion to pass all in favor say aye. Oppose now. Congratulations, you passed your resolution. Thank you very much. Next is House resolution 1,00022 Representative Brooks, please identify yourself for the record and then you may begin. Thank you, Madam Chair, Keith Brooks, Representative District 78, West Little Rock and portions of West Pulaski Saline County. I come today to bring a present a resolution to honor, uh, the new ASU system president, Doctor Brendan Kelly, uh, Doctor Kelly comes to us, uh, from Georgia and replaces uh much beloved Doctor Chuck Welch. Uh, so we are looking forward to having a chance to honor him. I will say just as a point of note a couple of days ago in the Democratic Gazette, uh, they did have the headline that Arkansas State hits student. High numbers, the highest enrollment in spring enrollment they've ever had so correlation is not always causation, I understand, but, uh, kudos to Doctor Kelly for just being here for a few months and they're already exceeding expectations, so, uh, with that, I am closed from a resolution. I'd appreciate a good vote. And are there any questions from the committee? Seeing the questions. There's no one signed up to speak for or against. The resolution, you're closed for your resolutions, what is the recommendation of the committee? Do pass all in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, you've passed your resolution. Moving right along, we'll go to house resolution. 1,023. I do not The Representative Steel in the room. OK. Do you want to do it? Please do that. Thank you. Identify yourself for the record and then you may begin. Thank you, Madam Chair. Joey Carr, District 34, uh, on, uh, House resolution 1023. This is to recognize the Salem football team and I could take opposition to this because they defeated two teams in, uh, in my district. Or, or would have in that sense the OCL Seminoles and the Rivercrest coasts, but out of, uh, out of respect to the commitment of the coaches and the effort and dedication of those student athletes, I would, uh, just like to say, uh, provide for a motion due pass to recognize the Salem. Greyhounds on their football championship. Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against the resolution? Are you closed for the resolution? I would just like to say. In the uh A good sportsmanship. I asked for a good, uh, motion to pass, please. All in favor, oppose no. The resolution has passed. House resolution 1024 is next. I know that I saw Representative Steele. There you are. Please identify yourself for the record and then you may begin. Thank you, Madam Chair. Tracy Steele, state representative. Um I apologize. I know I have two resolutions, which one, Thank you so much, uh thank you committee. This is uh a resolution recognized in African-American and Black History Month, uh, of course, that's always in the month of February, uh, certainly tradition of this body that we passed this resolution and and honor of this great month. Are there any questions? Seeing the questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against the resolution? Are you closed for your resolution? What's the will of the committee? Motion to pass all in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, your resolution has passed. Now House resolution 1025. This, uh, this, this resolution is an honor of of Daisy Bates, uh, and this was actually uh uh representative Allen, the first bill I passed when I served in this, in this great body and passed in 1999 where we actually honored Daisy Bates with a state holiday. He. Natural birthday is actually on November 11th, and of course, you know, that's Veterans Day and so we moved it to President's Day, which is coming up on us here in February and we, we sort of attached it to President's Day, uh, because it was already an established holiday, uh, people wouldn't have to be off work another day so we put it on that day and it's also black History Month. Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, there's not anyone signed up to speak against a four-year resolution? Are you closed for your resolution? I'm close to my resolution. What's the will of the committee motion to pass. All in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, your resolution has passed. Thank you, resolution 1026 representative Hawk, please identify yourself for the record and then you may begin. Thank you, Madam Chair. Uh, Representative RJ Hawk District 81, um, Committee today I bring to you, uh, House Resolution 1026. You recognize the Brian Hornet football team as class 7 state champions. Now, if this sounds familiar from the last session, it's because we were doing this last session and we've done it 6 of the last 7 years, uh, much like you guys when you come into uh or freshmen when they come into the house, uh, everybody says, well, the hardest thing to figure out is where the bathrooms are. The Hornets now know where all the bathrooms are. In fact, they're almost on key card access. They've been here so many times. So, uh, with that being said, uh, they've only had 5 losses in the last 7 years. So, uh, with all that being said, we want to recognize them on Wednesday because that is 2:12 and that is the moniker in Bryant has 212. So with that, I would appreciate a good vote. What does 212 mean? It's the boiling point of water, ma'am, where if you get to the point where you go over that, that's giving extra effort and so, uh, in Bryant, we want to make sure that we give extra effort, uh, for that. I am so glad that I looked at that before we got to the committee table. Golly yes, just like the Hornets do. OK, are there any other questions? Seeing that what it is seeing no other questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against the resolution? Are you closed for your resolution? What is the what? motion do pass, all in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, your resolution has passed. Thank you. Next up is House resolution 1028 by Representative Bo, uh, when you're ready, state your name for the record and begin. Uh, DM by State Representative District 87. Uh, this is to recognize national FFA Week, uh, someone asked what FFA was and I was like, are you kidding me? But it's Future Farmers of America, um, and it's an honor for them to be able to be here and see how the process works and, and I do believe some of those people will probably sit in our chairs one day. So with that, I'd appreciate a good vote. by the committee? I'm Representative Richard, you're or you're recognized. Thank you, Mr. How long has FFA been around? Do you know? A long time. A really long time. I don't know the exact year though. Yeah, it's a big, it's been around for a long time. Seeing no other questions, um, is there anybody signed up to speak? No, you're ready to close for your resolution? I'm my resolution and make a motion to pass motion all in favor say aye. Uh I, I say now. I was like, wait, what? Congratulations, you passed your resolution. Would you also while you're down there, like to run, um, house memorial resolution. House resolution 10:29 by Representative Johnson 9. Yeah, um, it's to designate February as National Children's Dental Health Month. Um, and I would appreciate a good vote. Is there any questions about the committee saying none? Is there anybody signed up to speak for saying none. Um Representative Carr, you're recognized. I'm closed. OK. Uh, we have a motion do pass or any discussion on it saying none all in favor say aye. All opposed say no. Congratulations, you passed House Resolution 1029. Uh, now is the house Memorial resolution 1001 state your name for the record and you can begin. Dan bought District 87. I'm running this for, uh, Representative Matt Shepherd. It's in, uh, memory of the former United States representative Beryl Anthony Junior. Du um questions by the committee seeing none is there anybody signed up to speak for or against, saying none. I'm closed Representative's closed. Do we have a motion by Representative Car all in um, is there any discussion on the motion saying none all in favor say aye, I post, I know. Alright, congratulations, Representative Vot, you have passed your bill. Without objection, we'll move to House resolution 1032, um. By Representative Vo your recognized uh. Representative Shepherd couldn't be here, so he asked me to run these, and this is to congratulate the Parker's Chapel Trojan cheerleader team for 2024 Class 1A, 2A state championship. And with that, I appreciate a good vote by the committee seeing none. Is there anybody signed up to speak for or against, saying none. What's the will of the committee? Alright, we have a do pass, um, is there any discussion on the motion saying no and all in favor say aye. All of those say no. Congratulations, you've passed another one. Thank you. With that, we'll go back up to house resolution 10:30 uh Representative Duffield. Please state your name for the record and then you may begin. State Representative Matt Duffield, District 53, Russellville. Um, committee, I bring you today a resolution to honor a man that's been on airways for a long time and I think he's a household name, not just in the Little Rock area, but all across the natural state. Broadway Joe Booker, Broadway Joe is known for his morning show Power 92 jams. He's been a Light spot in many people's lives for many, many, many decades and brought many people together of all races, shapes, sizes and colors felt is appropriate to honor him. And I would appreciate a good vote. Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against the resolution. Uh, Representative Steele. Reco. Thank you, Madam Chair, for being able to ask the question on um not on this committee. uh, great resolution, representative. Uh, you know, his birthday, I think it's coming up, and then for next week, uh, so, uh, I don't know if you plan to have him out at the Capitol, but be a great birthday present for him. I believe he's on schedule with his schedule, uh, this Thursday is when we plan to honor him. Great. Thank you. Are there any other questions? What's the will of the committee? Motion to pass. All in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, your resolution is passed. You want to jump down and do your next one, House resolution 10,031 recognize yourself the record and then you may begin. Yes, ma'am. Thank you. State Representative Matt Duffield, District 53, Russellville. Um, committee, I bring you this next resolution to honor a man that is known statewide, one of the greatest athletes to ever grace the state of Arkansas, the legendary Sydney Moncrief, who currently resides in the Little Rock area. Uh, Sydney Moncrief, his list of accomplishments is endless, uh, in this resolution, we listed as, as many of them as we could get, uh, get listed here on the paper. It goes on and on and on. I still have the uh Sports Illustrated edition that he's, he graced the cover on, which is awesome, and I plan to bring that and and see if he'll, uh, autograph that for me as well. So, um. I mean, what, what can be said about a man who, he worked for everything that he had and he's been a true great, uh, representative for the entire state of Arkansas, not just in sports, but in community. So I found it appropriate to represent the great Sidney Moncrieffe, and I'd appreciate your support. Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against a resolution. Are you closed for your resolution? Yes, yes, ma'am. What's the will of the committee? Motion to pass. All in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, you're. Resolution has passed. Thank you, Madam Chair. Thank you. We're going to go down to House Resolution 1033 representative Tara Shepherd, would you please recognize yourself for the record and then you may begin, ma'am. Thank you Madam Chair. Representative Shepherd District 79 of Little Rock, um, I have an absolute honor of presenting this resolution here today to uh um February is recognized as college and career career and technical education month and I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize the Arkansas military and first responders Academy, so this is a tuition free um school that is preparing our kids to. either go to the military and or work in the field of being a first responder and so I wanted to recognize them, not only that, it's in my district and it is the first school, uh, such as this, so I'm, I'm happy and excited about what Lieutenant Colonel is doing and I thought it would be phenomenal with this being career month to recognize the school for all that they're doing. Are there any questions? Seeing the questions we have I think it's Samari. Sanchez, did I say it right? Please come to the end of the table. Recognize yourself. Who you're with and then you may begin. Um, hello, I am, uh, cadet 2nd lieutenant Laguz oh. Uh, thank you for letting me speak today. I decided to attend the Arkansas Military First Responders Academy after Lieutenant Colonel came to my middle school and told us about AMPR. It is thanks to his thanks to his effort that I am here sitting today. The school has provided me with good opportunities I thought I'd never have. It it has allowed me to grow and be the best version of myself. Three of the many things we learned at the Arkansas military first Responders Academy are leadership, scholarship and character. Those three words are the foundation of AMPRA as an AMI cadet, Lieutenant Colonel Smealy reminds us often that you don't need ranks to be a leader. Leadership is something that is expected of me regardless of my rank. I'll learn that leadership is the constant state of mind. There will always be an opportunity to be a leader and it is never too early or too late to become one scholarship. I have learned that it is not free money, but the pursuit of greater knowledge and understanding the staff are always looking forward to challenging you and putting your knowledge to the test which which pushes you above and beyond. Character. During my time at Afra I've learned the importance of having a good of having good character. My character has been challenged by needing to hold myself and other cadets to the AMA standard. I find myself looking for more opportunities to volunteer my time to my community. As someone with from a broken family, Era is my family, and so I thank everyone who made A happen. Good job. Are there any questions? Saying no questions, thank you for being here today. Next we have uh Carter Landers. Please introduce yourself for the record and who you're with and then you might begin. Good afternoon, distinguished members of these honored halls. I am Cadet Lance Corporal Landers. Thank you for inviting me to speak today. I enrolled in this academy because of the promise of better education, skills, uh, better education, skills that can be applied throughout my life and the installation of the Marine Corps values, honor, courage, and commitment. The school has brought me a great sense of belonging and fulfillment while simultaneously gave me the privilege to wear the uniform of the Marine Corps and the privilege to call myself an Amri cadet. I have gained considerable knowledge of. Forgive me, I've gained considerable experience in serving the community and fully understanding what it means to be a leader, to put others first. I've learned how our government works. My rights and responsibilities as an American citizen to my nation, state, and community. The staff at AMPRA are exceptional when it comes to assisting their cadets. I personally have received more help than I could. have ever imagined possible. With the help and encouragement of the staff and the leadership of the marine instructors, I envisioned myself going far and achieving all in which I aspire. The JROTC aspect of our curriculum has taught me how to live a healthier life, how to recognize the ranks of our service members, how to recognize the ranks of our service members adorn. Marine Corps history and the proper handling of the academy's air rifles and general firearm safety. As well as respect for our nation and those to have served in her defense. Above all, service before self is an honorable life pursuit. My fellow cadets and I are the future of this nation. We strive for excellence in all that we do. Every cadet of this academy now has a chance at greatness. I stand here today and implore you to pass this resolution, not for myself, but for all the cadets to come and the future of Arkansas. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for your time. Good job. Are there any questions? No questions. Thank you for being here today. We don't have anyone else signed up to speak for or against the resolution Representative Shepherd, are you closed for your resolution? What is the will of the committee? Motion to pass. All in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations, your resolution has passed. We're gonna We're gonna pass over House Bill 1003 house resolution. Tian Tian. I do not see a representative Pilkington, so now we're gonna go down to house memorial resolution 1002, Representative Beatty, please. Recognize yourself for the record and then you might began. Thank you, Madam Chair. Representative Howard Beatty, District 95, um, committee, um, Madam Chair, uh, I'm here to present House Memorial resolution 1002, and it's an honor for me to present this resolution. This resolution is to remember Bob R. Brooks Jr. and recognized his contributions to the legal profession. To the state of Arkansas and to the United States. Bob was a dear friend to many of us, um, somewhat emotional to present this, just to think that it's. Approaching the one year anniversary of his passing. And so I'll ask for your prayers today and tomorrow on the floor when. When I speak in, in memory of Bob. It'll be a lot of folks that he left a lasting impression on this state. Um So with that, I, I'm closed and I'd appreciate good motion. There's no, are there any questions saying no questions, there's no one here to speak for or against the resolution, Representative Beatty is closed for his resolution.
