position if you could put us into your own words about why this is needed and I understand there's going to be a continuous position
Speaker 21
9:24
that's going to be a lot vacant if you don't need it right that that is exactly right this we have I would I would argue one of the finest chief financial officers in the state of Arkansas or probably in the world. We have an amazing CFfo that has been on our campus for 25 years. She has really helped turn the finances of a campus around and make us very solid and robust. She is retiring soon and she's got a she's given us a long a long off ramp but because of the importance and the value of that position
and and our deference to our auditors and state auditors to make sure we're doing the right thing. We thought it would be very prudent to hire someone in advance so that they could train under the best CFfo in the state to take that position and then be advanced into that position. it seemed very reasonable that that may we were looking at about a six months at the most for that training period. probably probably there. and then it wouldn't be in continuous. the position wouldn't be continuous. We might need it for another
vice president if the position warranted or we had a chance for an on ramp there for training so he he's exactly right. it's not a continuous position but it will be
Speaker 24

a full time job while they're there in transition. so en ator flippo do you have any other questions?

has this been offered in other universities or colleges such
Speaker 20
11:06
as this that's a that's a good question Many colleges have an associate vice president we're a very small college so we've we've given up quite a few of our positions in the past and kind of really trimmed what we have a lot of colleges and universities have associate vice presidents we don't have any of those at all and this idea of an on ramp sometimes I'm not familiar with any colleges doing it but it is a very traditional business practice and so we kind
of took it from that because it it really lends
Representative R. Scott Richardson

itself to that kind of efficiency. OK. and individuals that fall into that role that are transitioning out what if their salary range is in excess of what you're asking for
Speaker 24
11:47
here that they will be as a matter of fact this this
Speaker 20
11:50
is the the AvP is less than that position so we're going to hire them and use that time to on ramp them and when they assume the full responsibilities and liabilities of the position they will get the increased amount. OK thank you sir thank you Mr

The position is authorized as an administrative coordinator or
grade SGSO4. The request is predicated upon the increased administrative workload due to escalating inspection activity within the department's o S ha division.
