House and 7 Mister Speaker you are recognized. Thank you Mr chairman so house concurrent resolution 1007 is a resolution that I filed along with Senator Hester proposing an extension of the regular session up until may 1 and this is kind of our standard practice as long as I've been here is for us to go ahead and and pass a resolution for an extension and then that the lease gives
us more flexibility if we need that time but one of the reasons we don't normally want to wait to run the resolution to extend is that obviously later in the session you may get into a situation where people want to try to you know. They wanna I guess qualified their vote on this based upon what might happen to their bills in other words I only vote for an extension if people vote for my bill and vice versa and so it just makes sense to go ahead and and
hopefully pass this so we have that additional time if needed. I'd be glad to answer any questions and would have a motion at the proper time. Any questions from the committee. All right we've got a motion on the floor to pass all in favor say aye. The post all right thank you and house resolution 1007 house concurrent resolution 1007 is passed by next item on the agenda is a H. M. R. 1001 representative Duke you are recognized.
Thank you Mr chair numbers the committee I am here today to ask you to vote for house resolution 1001 in remembrance and recognition of officer Paul Newell you may have heard his story he was an officer on December 21 was escorting the recent crossamerica in been County when he was involved in the accident lost his life and so. From that time he's here with you grew up in Arkansas heating wrote our community he lived in our community and he was a dedicated law enforcement officer and it was a
devastating loss not only to his family but to the law enforcement community and also to our committee as well he was notable in all of its activities on the police department one especially one I'm so sorry I'm sooner. Was he helped establish been county sheriff's office motor division. His life exemplify the motto. To protect and to serve one thing that I wanted to mention when I visited with his widow about doing this because it was pretty recent and she said I just wanna make sure to
keep his memory and his service alive and I don't feel like I've done that justice today. But I do want to mention that when his motorcade passed my home and grab it. I came outside and I was amazed at how long that motorcade wins it was for miles that it went from Rogers and these people came all the way across a small community in northwest Arkansas to honor him so with that I'd answer any questions or to best of my ability I appreciate a good vote. Any questions from the committee. I saw the videos of that
motorcade I've got relatives up there and it was very touching very very touching for that event. All right what's the will of the committee got a motion to pass all in favor say aye. Congratulations thank you thank you very much appreciate it. All right next up as house resolution 1011 representative of a clear you are recognized.
