is the bill for our session expenses, and I think I've explained this probably to about half of y'all over the last two or three weeks this bill does two things it has the salaries and the matching for the session employees and it has your per diem and it has your mileage for the session when we began to prepare this bill the speaker asked that we go through our expenses very carefully which we did we cut five percent from this bill we eliminated 21 temporary employees for the five percent savings now i would encourage you uh to support this bill we don't know how long the session is going to be the last session was 89 days we believe we have adequate money to cover per diem in mileage this bill does not have permanent staff it does not have mno does not have from from other things it does not have travel other than your per diem and your mileage temporary employees i appreciate a good vote

You've been very accommodating to a lot of questions from me and others, and also I think it's a good sign, the step that we're heading with the reductions in this budget, I think you've made a tremendous amount of effort and took a tremendous amount of work. I wanted to thank you for that and say that from the well and also show it with my vote.

facetious with uh representative ingram's resolution i just wanted to come down and respectfully remind all of you that there was an important reason why we're not here on monday And it was because of action of this legislature several years ago to allow members to be off from the legislature so they could return home and be a part of an important day. And that day is the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and his birthday that is going to be celebrated and recognized on Monday. So the purpose for that was not to just have a day where the legislature was not meeting or to give us an early vacation. it was to allow members to go back to their respective districts and be a part of the many activities in your community in honor of a great civil rights leader who fought and gave his life for all of us, and I do mean all of us. So I want to wish you well. I'm sure you are connected with your local community and know about those various activities in your district. If not, the state has a Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission website that you can go on and find out information about those various activities throughout the state of Arkansas. Thank
