Thank you mister chair it's pretty straight forward that this resolution condemns the unprecedented. Attack on israel by the islamic republic of iran and it reaffirms in supports the state of his role right to defend itself and i. Don't know if senator dots and wishes to add anything to that but. At summarizes the resolution all right any questions from the committee. Because free resolution.
That's all the committee got emotion do pass all in favor say I posed. Thank you senator thank you representative thank you committee. I without objection we will skip down the house resolution ten forty three representative fight you are recognized. Thank you mr chairman. Until recently the elder
smarried couple in arkansas lived in hot springs unfortunately their husband passed away recently so now the eldest married couple in arkansas live in my district in natural dam and I want to tell you very briefly about this couple because i'm fascinated by them mr allison is a hundred and six he would be a hundred and seven in september and when I attended his one hundred and first birthday party as mister allison I have never met a man
who was a hundred and one and he said we'll come next year and you'll meet a man who's a hundred and two and sure enough he did it and several more years and he still teaches sandy school sharpest attack they live independently their children and grandchildren are great grandchildren and live all around them and and check on them frequently he told me that he had to quit gardening because the stripping down get too hard so now he does would working so this resolution is to honor a thell and margie ellison as the
longest married couple in the state of arkansas and with that i'm close to appreciate a good okay I just want to point out one thing here five children fifteen grandchildren thirty seven great grandchildren and thirty one great great grandchildren that's eighty eight people from this wonderful union that's great any questions from the committee. Was the will the committee I got a motion to pass all in favor say I alright thank you representing fight thank you mister chairman thank you committee.
All right we will move back up on the agenda house resolution ten forty seven representative mcalinden you are recognized. Thank you chairman thank you committee I am presenting this for representative events it is to commemorate the last eighty five years of general aviation and it is a resolution in support of national celebration of general aviation fly over in washington dc. All right any questions from the committee.
Aviation being a very big part of arkansas economy that's a very appropriate what's the will of the committee. Got a motion to pass all in favor say I alright thank you represent back a line and. The. And then oh yeah while you're there would you like to go ahead and run a ten forty four okay. Thank you chairman this is a resolution to recognize the bit in the west high school chest team they are the twenty twenty four class fourth through seven a state champion and I like to point out that they actually are
in their non rear so it's a quite a big accomplishment their first year as a chest team to win the state championship families. Any questions from the committee. What's the will of the committee got emotion do pass all in favor say I alright thank you representative chairman thank you committee. Okay moving back up house resolution ten forty five representative car you are recognized. The. The.
Thank you mister chair today I present to your house resolution ten forty five to commemorate the roger's mountains tireleading team on their first ever state championship. Today I know the students are routers they work very hard and this is this very significant accomplishment for them their static they're excited and so we're going to recognize them on the floor but just wanted to come in here just save appreciate with all the work they do their coaches and everything and i've just asked for a good it looks like a four out of the last seven years they came second and those probably
nice for them to finally press that mount you know it good deal any questions from the committee. Was a will the committee got a motion to pay all in favor say I alright thank you representative thank you mister chair thank you committee. How small resolution one thousand one representative underwood you are recognized. Thank you sure thank you committee this is for pastor billy rogers he was actually a family member
of mine and a month start when I was in middle school in high school but he started preaching at the age of fifteen years old which I think is incredible he actually became a pastor age of eighteen increased for fifty four years he was everybody who knew him he was very well liked and he passed away earlier this year at his finger if you didn't get there on time it was standing room only I don't think there was a dry in the place he was a great guy scare his entire life to serving the lord and I just think this is a small token of something
that we can do to show our respect for that that life that he lived. All right any questions from the committee. What's the will the committee. Got a motion to pass all in favor say I alright thank you representative underwood thank you many appreciate it. Are we have some other business without objection will recognize our chief of staff regularly. The. Thank you michigan.
I wanted to come and. Make a presentation and get. Approval. From the house management comedia as you know we've got this project going. The sixty offices on the fourth floor. And we're at that point where um. We need to uhm make the decision in go forward so we can get. Some of the bills paid. An order some equipment.
So uh. We have a. Uhm. Proposal. From evo business environments. And so what we're doing is they're going to. The the building authorities come in there cleaned it all out got everything. Ray to go there going to install the walls.
And put the furniture and so on in earn and just finish it out force what it amounts to and hopefully they'll be done. First of october. So the price the standard pricing if it was just a customer out there. For the walls the glass the family doors modular everything would be me and hate but the state contract pricing is. A million seven that saves us. Roughly hundred and thirty thousand dollars.
Then we negotiate it further from that. Another hundred and eight thousand dollars so uh. We've got the uhm. Proceed that is ran at one point six one five nine five so that savings to earn thirty seven thousand now the office furniture. That part of it standard pricing would have been a million four for the furnishings for everything. In all sixty offices.
The state contract pricing was nine hundred and twenty two thousand and so we ended up negotiating with them a price of seven hundred and eighty three thousand that's five hundred and eighteen thousand in savings. So the total. Price is to me and three hundred and seventy eight thousand. Most beyond now or hopefully you know that we worked with the sectorious states of so we gave up space.
The northern of the basement for them to move. There captain police despatch. Officers weapon storage and all that to the northean of the capital we did that. And in an agreement with them they would help. Us get the officers completed over there so they put five hundred thousand dollars into this project. So at that san.
That gets us down to me and eight hundred and seventy eight thousand now. Overa ten year lease if we had just let the building authority go in there in and build the offices dark specs then we'd be looking at a lease of three hundred and forty two thousand. Per year. But by doing this work our sales we save half that so we're going to be paying. Hundred and seventy one thousand
per year. So over a ten year period of time we will have saved me and. Seven which is basically the cast to what we're paying so over the next ten year period. We go to go actually not make and money but you know what I mean you go to. Saving. Because they would have we would have been paying. Basically double rant but because we re furnished this are
say off they could our rant and have. The. Other than that. Of course we're going to use some the money prom. For committee room safety. That the bureau is given us and also the attorney general has agreed to purchase the weapons detection. Systems force there was the tunnel is open up we're going to
have a weapons detection system there will have a weapons detection system at. First door that you go in and all the other inferences to big mac and as you know the stake capital place are going to take over the security of big mac after this as well. So. Basically the that's going to come and x gradually to the state capital so. With that I would.
Appreciate your indulgence to now answer any questions but I would like approval of this plan. Represent richardson you reckon as for a question thank you mister chair actually got a couple questions you said that that the right will be cut basically and half over ten year period what happens after ten years as well actually they only lease to the five year period but we can anticipate that it that it will stay at that half price at whatever you know we may have to pay more rant and
five years but we got a five year lease on it so in five years when they look at it we still get that savings because we've done the work over there for them so we only signed a five year leave because I thought she said ten years off well i'm just kind of thinking about a ten year lease save in half the money on it that would they would pay the slaying out this kind of show you want we felt like that was the way to go but that's if they don't go up on the lease but they probably will have not seen many that didn't
go up after five years but we would help they wouldn't be. I can't speculate on that. Then all and i'm asking for them trying to rap ahead around with that total savings look like if we if we gain some back in the first five years but it's stairs steps after the five years you know i'm i'm curious of what that number might be but I guess the least would would would be able to tell us do we it now the question in with the the the organization who's doing the work you say evo or something. Is this the this.
Also go by the whole precurement laws that we have and we did we get multiple beers or is this just one we did get multiple beds actually they were bare member mister bands can you help me on this they were a. They were. I just am I believe we get multiple bears we will let the building services handle this. And in the they dealt with a song from.
Can the details so we are example I would say we're example from the procurement laws we are yes but. We get two bids on the architects. Somebody helped me up there. Yeah I believe they're there were multiple bids on the furniture the evo is is to finish out the in the interior of the offices and in the environment the furniture is what he's referring to but they're also and forgive me i'm a bunch of the term but they are on the approved list with state
building authority there under on for state contracts go they're doing without stepping too far out there I believe we were told they were doing the attorney generals renovation downtown of the building that they're renovating so they're excited pre approved their own that their previous will stay building authority we lane only architects a lot to tell us what we need to do so so they don't make it in over my hair will we be able to see what that looks like this agreement or at least it were not least but.
The beer that we've accepted it sounds like we've accepted it from evolved well today we were and. Prior to vote in san diego well I mean that prices. Two million three hundred and seventy eight thousand dollars secretary of states gonna pay five hundred thousand of it we'd pay me and eight. Maybe an eight hundred and seventy eight thousand. Again we negotiated those prices
down. From the state contract because this is a big pretty good size jam so the architects and the company work to uh negotiate that price down with us a bill comfortable that is. Very good price. Any other questions from the committee. The general yes. Represent shelter recognize these walls that were talking about we're not talking about modular petition tap stuff or
what we're talking. Stick frame now we're talking about walls that can be mood in the future okay but they're not like the carpeted petition type walls you see in cubicles or are they actually the other. Okay are just just making sure yeah their walls that go up but but they they go up florida ceiling. And but they are they do have the ability for flexibility and that they can be moved but the
sound proofing it's very similar to what is on the third floor of mac where parts and tourism is every if you've been in those in those offices. Yeah so it's not it's nothing like the cubicles or anything like that it's gonna be very very nice but also offers longterm flexibility to be able to move as as our needs may change. And this will allow us to for. To give up some space here in them in the basement of the
capital that can be utilized by the secretary state the attorney journalist office for other purposes to bring some of their people in this raining space elsewhere out thank for the taxpayers eventually that's going to be a much better use and plus. Any all it's had offices down in the basement know those are non officers there. Clause it's it best cuba goals. And go on on sleep people won't
use them don't go down there because they're not the not workable they were also going to have some conference rooms in their soon and it's going to be a usable facility and if you stop the thing about it we're most your meetings. And I will get budget audit. We've got a oc and all the subcommittees of transportation city county local rules. A lot and we get committee at
room see that's going to be there to use. Or move in that way with a lot of our business and it's going to work a lot better for the members and you'll have the tunnel back and forth worth so it's going to be a real good workable situation.
Yeah. If you'd like two week absolutely good because that we're going to have a meeting tomorrow if you'd like to meet tomorrow then you that give you some time to look over the numbers and things like that we could call for a vote then okay that uh okay. All right representative shelters withdrawn emotion so we'll get those numbers to the entire committee that way forgot any more questions we'll be back tomorrow same time twelve thirty and we can address it then. All right.
Alright see no further business we are adjourned.
