Daniel Fielding. I'm superintendent of Walron Schools. That microphone, yeah, pull that mic down. There you go. Thank you. Superintendent of Waldron Schools, my name's Daniel Fielding. I'm, uh, asking for consideration we had, um, Structural hail damage on our elementary school, um. We are trying to give you the concise version of this, uh, we've made a claim with ASBA. It has been approved recently, but if you saw in the notes, it's been kind of a long process, so, uh, when I talked to someone from ASBA they had initially wanted us to try to rebid this we actually did take bids. There was a during the questionnaire that I filled out. I think a lot of the questions kind of centered around why is the school. District not taking bids and we actually did take bids we took them in August of 2024 we had a competitive bid process, but. Everything really just kind of got bogged down, um, with ASBA, but we've kind of finally broken the dam so to speak, and have been awarded the uh the money to get this, but ASBA was recommending that we rebid this and I need to get this done in the summer because it's gonna take about probably 2, 2.5 months is what they're estimating to get this done. And so I'm seeking this waiver. Due to the price being over a million dollars and that's, that's why I'm here to seek this waiver.

school building approximately how many total square feet is that?

Speaker 4 11:16
Um, it's about 96,000 square feet. Now, um, this, this roof has two layers of roof on it. And you'll have to forgive me, I've, I've learned a lot more about roofing code than I ever thought I would need to know, but From what I understand, according to roofing code, you can only have two layers of roof. On a, a school. And so one of the layers have to be completely removed so while they're doing that and they're gonna just take it, take the two layers off and start with a um a brand new

roof. Well, I appreciate the fact that you're using this process and I understand the urgency, uh, based upon, uh, the timing and needing to do this during the summer, uh, especially when the elementary students are not there, faculty and staff is not there, so, um, thank you for being here and, uh. motion to proper time. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Any other questions? Aren't seeing no other questions. What's the will of the committee?
