Okay, thank you, Mr. Chairman, committee. So Senate Bill 411, let me kind of give you what's happened here.
I don't know whether you've heard of squatters' trucks or not. The first time I heard somebody say squatters' truck, I thought it was big rigs that they were left somewhere, and somebody had moved in them, and just, I didn't realize what it was. But what squatters' trucks are, they're lowering the back of the truck so low, And the front of the truck is so high that the headlights are shining up above the other cars. There's two real big problems with that. Of course, you all know that trucks can only be a certain height.
Now, some of you may remember this, some of you may not. In the old days, when they inspected your car, the headlights had to be a certain distance for you to even pass inspection. uh that's one of the problems so because they're not shining ahead and the other problem is it sets up so high in the front if something's right in front of the vehicle they cannot see it uh so originally we had this this drafted to uh to measure the bumper in the front and measure
the bumper in the back uh that was our original intent but then we looked at some other states and what happened when they did that all they did was just move the bumper on the vehicles and they still had the squatters problem so if you look in section two it says the suspension frame or chassis of the motor vehicle has been modified by any means to cause the height of the front bumper motor vehicle to be at least four inches in height greater uh height of the rear bumper of the motor vehicle that's that's an offense so four inches from the frame uh from the back to the top is back
basically what it does this is uh this is supported by the state police and i don't know of any opposition uh and anyway that that's it in a nutshell pretty short bill thank you representative any questions from

bill? Seeing none, Representative Milligan. I am closed and make a motion to do pass. I have a motion to do pass. Any discussion on the
motion? All in favor say aye. Aye. Any opposed, same like sign. Hearing none, congratulations. Passes. I see no one else here to run the bills that we have on the table, so is there any other business to come before this committee today?
Committee, we will meet Thursday briefly. probably be our last meeting Thursday. We don't have time if anyone brings any bills after that to get them through on the Senate and this end. So with that, we stand adjourned.
