All dressed up and nowhere to go. House Concurrent Resolution 1006 is identical to the recess motions that we have at the beginning of each session. Of course, rules state that any time we are in recess longer than three days, we need permission from the other chamber. This, however, takes an additional step due to COVID, which allows the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate to set some additional recesses just in case of COVID emergencies. Deadlines could be extended for the filing and consideration of scope of practice legislation, the filing of proposed constitutional amendments, and the filing of appropriations bills. Or it has been phrased, if you're going to do it for one group of people, why wouldn't you do it for another? This legislation applies equally. If you are Hispanic and you are targeted, it applies. If you're a Jewish, it applies.
