Thank you Mr chairman committee Keith Brooks represent district thirty one I will say I'm a little bit saddened to know that to miss represent Payton and Eighteen sixty one because that's how he was going to be a perhaps a messy. At the end just to draw your attention there are a couple of amendments one one is already know within the language that you've got in your packet and there's another amendment that was just brought in from a desk by bill or if you look at that and I'll address those here shortly so let's the go ahead address the amendment first okay Committee. Right was present along with committee chairman of those so when I first memories in life came when I was five years old in March of nineteen eighty one I remember being held around our families thirteen it's black and white television as US read hit a half court shot to defeat the look the a defending champion local cardinals in the NC double a tournament I vividly remember my dad basically losing his mind because he was so excited the fact that happened on the home court of the Texas Longhorns made it so much more sweeter for a kid from Little Rock who grew up well walk into war Memorial to see the Razorbacks play against a Longhorns fast forward into my chance to develop a similar present passion with Nolan Richardson's teams of the eighties and nineties I am that I'm for you to run that culminated in nineteen ninety four national championship this version this year's version of fall ball led by coach Eric Musselman is open the door to new air of success and we've all witnessed of the entire state give behind the team to accomplish things not seen in a generation as a father myself I get so much joy out of watching my kids engage in something that brings our Kansas together in otherwise chaotic here and it's entirely possible they might actually seeing their dad show the same enthusiasm that I saw as a child I think for the example set by this team both on and off the court these young men the coaching staff in the men and women that support them are all deserving of honor I would appreciate a good vote on this resolution any questions from committee represent for. This is recognized in the tenth anniversary of the glam's program which the glam's program as it stands for girls learning about math and science and as you can see the resolution this is a program that's existed for the past ten years in south Arkansas and has It has impacted over two thousand girls during that ten year period we're all we're we're well aware of the shortage that we have in terms of students who were studying math and science across the board but particularly when it comes to a female students And so this program was initiated through a partnership with Union County community foundation over a school district already education foundation and the south south Arkansas community college and as you can see there are number of partners public and private who have contributed to this program and in recognition of of their success and their hard work over the past ten years I brought this resolution along with represent Boker and with that I'd be glad to answer any questions but otherwise with that move do pass the questions from committee. When the motion to pass I just wanted to point out it is nice to be commemorating championships again after having a season where we had none absolutely and if you had any interaction with these players how how exciting was it for them to get back on the court absolutely all year and coaches Alphin everyone so it's really been a you know I think our chances are very special this year specifically in a pandemic you're just keeping kids eligible you know we had so much to so many around the state of people Business School for the covert related reasons family them students so it's it's been very very trying just to keep the train on the track in Administration hello buys my wife's intended but that is really going to it's really been tough and so for to happen I'm just very excited for our community and and in the school that's correct that's correct we got a motion to pass on the floor all in favor say aye. Blight hard and and we're the underdogs and it lays three of the game so they they did well yeah didn't give up and I noticed inside the resolution you talked about how they fought off a in that championship game there was concern that the the other team could mount a comeback and the coach sure then that would not happen in the players made that so yeah because it had happened with the same team earlier in the year yeah good bill yep they did well we need to.
