Hello Laurie tutor Director of the Arkansas department of transportation. Rectifier's deputy director chief engineer. Thank you both for being here. Okay all right so and this is our quarterly report on projects ten million dollars or more that are active. you should receive this by email the first of the week to look over if you have any questions I'll be glad to take now. All right thank you for your time I think we have commissioner Alec farmer and commissioner Marie holder that like come up. Give a little update on their meeting. Again if you'd like to introduce yourself for the record. I'm commissioner Marie holder from little rock. I like former I'm a vice chairman of the Highway Commission from Jonesborough. Mr chairman members of the subcommittee. Ensure your November twentieth twenty twenty meeting your doctor recommendations for adults operations and processes based on efficiency review conducted by Arkansas got House LLC. At a regular meeting earlier today Highway Commission adopt rules to guide the implementation of those recommendations the commission is pleased to submit hard copies of this report for you you should have those in front of you reporter. We'll be submitting this document an electronic format later today in law and her staff to be prepared to discuss the rules at your next meeting. On behalf of chairman more and all members of our commission I thank you for allowing us to submit this document today on short notice and appreciate you allowing us to be here thank you yeah we're going to we're going to pass it out to the members that are here and then like that that if it's going to be electronic also. And so try to look over this and if you do have questions have those ready for our next meeting. You all have anything else Mister chairman I have a calendar item for everyone on October eleventh and November fifteenth we're hosting a freshman legislator or orientation at the department transportation I would also like to invite all the members of this committee and the Senate and house transportation committees you have already received an invitation from Gil but we just wanted to personally invite you and we're looking forward to being in person together and join everybody around department transportation and having a good day together we'd love for each of you to join us thank you for that thank you now there's two different days is it basically the same depending on which state you can make it that's correct yes I presented any questions for me one on the committee. And November fifteenth and gills going to be sending out more the particulars on that is when it will be a committee meeting as well is that what you're saying transportation technology legislative officials invited it will be every day committee members are in but this committee is invited and the transportation committees as well as the freshman as really or an orientation but since we've been apart a nice time to visit and spend time with each other ourselves when voting everybody down there for that thank you so very much seven minutes since I've been up with the permission of the chair yes Director tutor. I keep hearing about us being in court on this little stretch of highway. On thirty which I represent if you give me some update on that as well yes there's there's several lawsuits going on right now some have to do with the national environmental protection act and others have to do with the ruling by the Supreme Court that we should not have used to have sent sales tax funding on thirty crossing and it was the Supreme Court ruled that it was an illegal exaction so it back to the circuit court and they in turn some They awarded legal fees to the plaintiff's attorney and we are appealing those legal fees back to the Supreme Court so there's just a lot going on there and that's a real high level view it's it's gotten pretty at Saly I there was no change. I hope I'm not in reaching any legal thing but there was no change in funding we just had to put different funding on thirty crossing we're still doing the project but the legal fees were pretty excessive so we're appealing for which you're moving right along absolutely that's all I need to know thank you so much thank you. Senator design thank you Mr chairman in commissions I just wanna say thank you all for bringing this presenting it today it's not lost on me that you're here doing that which I think indicates your willingness in in in really your desire to be involved in this process And so again I just wanna say thank you and and make sure that we recognize that because this is kind of a different town at that think to have some the commission is here to make that presentation and and and it really does mean a lot thank you. Representative right yes Sir Mr chairman one more time on those meeting dates October eleventh and fifteen scores or they gone be miss Lori. They're gonna be at the highway department we're going to start off in the central office in the auditorium and that do is just a real short little presentation and then do a little tour and show you around. Maybe Fiji a box lunch and that kind of thing we just want to spend some time with everybody and get to know you better.
