Representative Jack Ladyman district fifty nine. Smackover pay department of environment. What we. It's been a while since we had a meeting with the election everything we miss one of our meetings so appreciate you holding this meeting so we can kind of give you an update I've been away from in a while because of election. So I'm not as up to date is Mr pay is on what's been going on but and we had some in meetings that I've been brought up to speed on and and I think we're making progress talking to the right people in Washington and primarily in Washington so I'll I'll let to Mr pay kind of bring you up on what happened at those meetings. Thank you Sir. Actually been a bigger participant than he's letting on. As you'll see as we go through the schedule for a last meeting with on January the third. with their update since Sam on January the thirteenth. We responded to us some inquires from the department of energy regarding interim storage on January eighteenth. We did a presentation to the Arkansas Public Service Commission. For the recycling program argon national labs the department of energy doctor about that with the University of Arkansas or of petitions to that meeting. When January twenty six a letter from representative Jack Ladyman to The nuclear energy the office of a nuclear energy at DOE. Showing clear support the education initiative by the University of Arkansas. Listen. In received January thirty first the University of Arkansas Dr but it sent a letter to the DOE Office nuclear energy inviting the DOE team to to. Discuss the reprocessing of used fuel and the details for nuclear education program. On the first of February initial contact with the heartland company for transportation information and records I had to move anything processed fuel from point a to point B.. On the second DO you replied to the invitation by the University of Arkansas. And was scheduled to resume meeting. On the first of March representative Jack Ladyman sent a Letter to the Argonne national average question is do meeting between the argon lab re processing team and the inter G.. Nuclear engineering team with Mister John Bethel's help from interacting. March fourth the representative Jack Ladyman. Reply to the DOE RFI for using the consent based siting process to identify federal interim storage facilities. was is received by the department of energy CSOD in the head and. Right. On March tenth we complete our executive summary for a distribution to offices like both men's and The. Tom cotton. The scene not be forgotten. All right letter from on March fourteenth the letter from representative Jack Ladyman to senator John Bozeman was supporting the confirmation of doctor who to be the director of the office of nuclear energy. Now on April first we had a zoom meeting with Argonne national lab and into G. nuclear Teague. On April fifth we had discussions are applied to the federal state senator Dan Albrighton through concerning the Arkansas River processes supply based on active ninety two. we also had a representative from that same state the staff reached out and had several questions and. interest in doing something similar to what we have done here in Arkansas regarding activity to. Hi owner in April and may we've reached out to at James Caldwell department of administration for the office of naval reactors. And communicated We had good communication with them regarding what role if any it Department of. The offense could play in the Arkansas plan. Only seven the letter from Arkansas to Dr Huff graduating the confirmation invitation to the Arkansas to discuss the Arkansas plant for recycling. Just wanna as a side note here we work very hard with. several of the staff from the state publication as well as. From the energy committee in Washington to get doctor have confirmed in hopes that. We would have a leader at the DOE that can and start issuing some of the things you need to be issued in order for us to move forward. And so we had a whole group of people working on it in addition to representing lame and we appreciate that. On may tenth so we contacted we've been carrying on conversations with senator mansions. Staff committee staff running them information about the Arkansas planted well. And we've gotten great feedback from them and and again I was in may we've had some very good dialogue with them since then. And We had Jim conference on June fifteenth with the awesome nuclear energy and the Arkansas team and then June eighteenth and nineteenth Arkansas. energy ten have been and consequent communication with senator Manchin's program in person. Talking about the Arkansas plan for recycling so we've got a lot of interest we got a lot of momentum we should a long way to go. On the weekend I received from inter G. the comments or questions that they had from the meeting that was held on April the first. Yes about two pages and we're going to that now and we've reaching out to our national labs for additional information. In regard to the questions and issues that. Entry fee is brought up I'll be glad to take any questions. So for questions let me just add a couple things and appreciate that detailed report. I didn't realize we done that much but The key things here I believe number one is doctor Haas is the undersecretary of energy for and up for nuclear energy and to have. the undersecretary come and visit with are some members of our team is really important and when she was confirmed and I read her bio we talk we discussed her bio she is very. Very knowledgeable about nuclear and very excited about this idea that we've got. So I think that's really important that we're we've got that open communication not with our office vote with her and the other if you're G. the other thing that was important was meeting with energy to see what their opinion was where they were on this and they they've shown a lot more interest lately than they did in this project in the beginning and then Senator Bozeman center cotton I talked to a representative Crawford personally about this he wants his team to help wherever they can that's not that wouldn't documented it was just a personal discussion I had with him and I know representative Westerman is very aware of this project and may have talked to some folks back in Washington about as well I believe so these contacts are good we we've got to develop a plan I mean a written plan that we can actually hand to deal with the when we're requesting funds I think that's kind of where we're at so happy to answer any questions. So anybody have any questions form. Reserva. All those rides of. And re purposing nuclear fuel rods what are is that. County records has been wore out or something after all this use may actually the rides. They're they're usually anywhere from one half to three years and then called out and so. In layman's terms there's like ninety five percent the BTU value left in the roads. Okay. Senate bill seventy questions yes really represented right to express question because these these are not really waste basically office back they've they've given up five percent of their energy so they still have ninety five percent of the product in which is B. to use in their so there really office but they're not really waste. All represented Ladyman what can they be use for server authorizes. Well that's where our own lance's they they've done a lot of tests to to pull that remaining BT use in the form of fuel out in re claim that so it can be used in another process to produce energy so. Well there's not any other questions we don't have any other business so appreciate this state to Mr paying representative Ladyman. Thank you Sir thank you meetings adjourned. The. Ninety five percent yeah.
