Insurer Arkansas state plan David do you want to go down to the energy just wanna talk from David cook sample C. manager for the Alzheimer's association just want to draw your attention to one section the the public awareness section particularly the recommendations at our last meeting we did a thorough review
of each of the recommendations and an overview of each of the sections within made to request to the council members and state agencies to have comments turned in no later than September nineteenth at five PM we did not get a whole lot of edits and so we just feel like there was enough to justify a full presentation only at its are on the public awareness peas and one a small addition on the own dimension training piece
the health department requested that so I made the case that the Alzheimer's dementia registry should go with adventure services coordinator position which we agreed so we we made note of that last meeting but we have struck them from holding the the registry we also That was the only one I think from them they did submit a few edits in terms of some type so I really appreciated their
comments there is the only other point of or the issue that we as yet to be resolved is the dementia services coordinator there there has been some questions about whether or not it should be a state government position we do hold that it should be in state government we just that we feel like it it is not an advocate position but but certainly to oversee the implementation the state plan and we have committed to both agencies that we would work on the language to make sure there's no conflict there in terms of the established in
that position also we did not specifically name of an agency there so whatever the dementia services coordinator the registry would follow wherever that position ends up landing but it I certainly see a path for that will be able to work out our differences there. Okay there any comments from any committee members any questions. Any comments from the public.
No okay then all in favor of I'm sorry I have one. Oh okay we do have one more addition to make you'll go to the dementia training section and look at a pace thirty nine on your hand out now I'm gonna have to find it simple if there. at the last meeting we unintentionally left off of the category our first responders in terms of dementia specific training requirements so we have
added that back in that was just an oversight on my part during the editing process so that is the only other change to the plan including first responders back into that other than that there are no edits aside from just fixing up typos and some grammatical errors in places other than that those are the only changes to the recommendations. Any questions comments.
Okay I will just conclude by saying we we really appreciate the council's work on participation we've had from the state agencies both the the part of health and also DHS and actively working with us to complete this project it is been a labor of love but we are very excited and from the association's perspective very please with the final product just want to thank you so much for your work and thank the leadership of the chairs as well and the B. L. R. staff of for
all your work this year getting us to this point so just happy to Help or answer any questions if you have any other than that I'm my presentation is concluded. Okay do I have a motion to approve for submission of this state plan to go to the governor's office and the leaders of the house and Senate.
Okay Jennifer and is there a second hi Kerry Jordan thank you all those in favor say aye. all those opposed okay The motion passes we have done a lot of work here but I will say this is just the beginning so thanks for setting up this framework and will be back in touch with the another future meeting date so thank you for everyone's hard work in their input thank you David for being the leader of all this.
