Members will go ahead call this meeting to order chair sees a quorum. Go ahead and start for us. The command chair on today's agenda is the Department seventh round request this is the department of education's American rescue plan preparation for elementary and secondary school emergency relief fund grants the request residents for fifty four million it's to make grants to twenty six school districts the second hand out you have the schedules provided by the department and that shows the break of the dishes
responses on whether the use of phone plans follow the LC recommendation to use easier if funds for teacher retention strategies of those districts six had plans that met the LC recommendation twelve districts revise their plans to meet the LC recommendation in eight districts did not revise our plans in justifications providing the last call. All right thank you and I see some questions I've got share one twelve. I'm sure Chesterfield I move we batch and review.
Okay okay yep this approval item so we'll have a few making a motion to approve the yes ma'am all right do I have a second. All right all in favor aye aye opposed nay. Motion carries all right I still have a a question as well got year one twenty six thank you manager this vehicle I don't know if this is gonna be for Stafford apart the Department other the question that I have a side of the first one Arkadelphia school district is says that they're using the ask
for funds for a building project and I just want to get verification that these funds can be used for building a new school building that's that is approval approved okay I saw our wanted out thank you. More complicated all right would you like for me to have someone come up are you care to come up to the table someone with department of ed please.
State your name for the record please Greg Rogers the former education. So yes so that if they want to use for building products for those the space or H. back or something to make the building healthier safer for directly to the COVID and they had to come get pre authorization from our facilities unit. You're one twenty right yes. So so I guess my my follow up to
that is. It has to be a current building that they're improving because this looks like it's a brand new building that they're building from the ground up. So I had to look at that but it could be if it was adding one to the building or an outdoor classroom I don't know which specific plan or looking at their side to look at it to see exactly what they were doing it since the first one for Arkadelphia and it just says they're using it to that I guess I had a shortfall in the
construction funding and they're using that to make up the difference and So it says the. Read a profile of partnership program low box so I just wanna make sure they're not gonna get in trouble by using this money to build a new building one that's not that doesn't seem like that's a COVID related type thing it would have had to go to the pre approval process with our facilities you need to make sure that was necessary and allowable use of these kill if funds are that was my main thing as one make sure not to get
anybody in trouble here thank you it is stay there just in case we have any more questions please. Share one twenty six may. All right you're recognized thank you madam chair I've got the. Just kind of update had been kept up with that I think we got what two hundred seventy school districts summer that number two hundred and sorry two sixty two sixty how many have responded so for me would do we have left and how many of the ones that responded have either took the
remote recommendation or modified recommendation compared to ones that have do you have those numbers I had to look to see how many did the recommendation I don't know if I would have it I just don't know that. You have some of those numbers so including the eighth round we'll see next week that'll be two hundred forty four applications that you're seeing that's ninety four percent of the applications at nine hundred and thirty one million an appropriation okay thank you.
And I believe we have I think we're missing I was told we're missing for that haven't submitted that correct so for the haven't submitted once those are submitted they will also made it. Correct. And so the four that were waiting on who were those who were they for what districts we still waiting on to have something at all submitted I didn't bring this was so we had really there were sixteen lead that we worked on last week and a lot of we're just waiting on have their board meetings to get their plans approved in the never come back and so are keep a county bill unit is being worked with those school districts over the past week and
we have for that have not sent those plans into our unit yet is that what we're downtown we're check on those right now but I don't I didn't have to list didn't get to this with me okay thank you but chair one oh five. Thank you Mr chairman of let me ask you this I was speaking to make you over of over age Poinsett County. And he said that you guys for allowing him two hundred dollars a square foot but it was actually going cost three hundred.
How do they make up that difference. Okay so now we're we're moving on to partnership program allowable square footage that's goes to the partnership program recommendations and right now we raised it from one standing to two hundred over the last biennium but that would be something that would have to be reviewed adequacy of to see if they want to raise that amount per square footage so that that's what is allowable right now is two hundred two. That's that's outside of the A.
R. P. correct five. But that's what partnership was allowable right now square feet for the partial program. Okay follows thanks. So if they have to do if they do this they're going to have to come up with that not a hundred dollars a square foot more their sales to get that one. Hi Cynthia and yes that would that they would have had to come up with their wealth index match anyway and if there is an inflationary cost in there over the two hundred dollars per square foot that would be something that the district would have to cover right now
yes Sir thank you thank you Mr. All right thank you are there any other questions. All right our next meeting. Representative Fite hit your. I am not familiar with graduate Arkansas can you tell me more about it. Get set graduate Arkansas it's on the third page almost to the bottom.
