Thank you, Madam Chair. April 15, 2026 is recognized in Nucor at the state capitol.
Whereas Nucor is the largest steel and steel product producer in the United States and a global leader in steel making sustainability. They are the largest recycler of any type of material in North America. they recycle over 20 million tons of ferrous scrap metal annually to produce new steel that is 100 recyclable their gas greenhouse gas intensity is less than one-fourth of the global steel making average since 1987 their first steel mill opened in arkansas operating five facilities
currently in arkansas new core yamato steel new core steel new core coatings new core skyline Armarelle, and those are in Mississippi County and in Centria in Grant County currently. They employ over 32,000 teammates and 2,772 teammates throughout Arkansas alone. The median annual pay for Nucor teammates over the past few years averages more than $100,000. They reinforce their culture through the 10% earnings and profit sharing for all the Nucor
teammates in addition to their salary. Today I'm honored to be joined in the well with Nucor leadership, Miss Whitney Williams, Mr. Mike Knapp, and Mr. Mike Stover. Nucor is the Western Hemisphere's largest bean producers. Arkansas steel can be found in iconic American structures throughout the United States, One World Trade Center, the home of the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium, and the
University of Arkansas Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Nucor teammates are offered through their dependents a $4,000 per year scholarship to college or vocational school nationwide has amounted to more than 115 million dollars awarded to nearly 25,000 children since the program's inception in 1974 and 12 million of that in the state of Arkansas. Me personally, I have seen a new core in the community involved
community involvement different different events. They're highly visible. They are there for first day welcoming at our local schools. They participate in student reading program. They support several non-profit organizations in our community. They do back-to-school events. They contribute to the Arkansas Food Bank and the Food Pantry and other community events within our county and throughout the state. We would just like to say thank you

Representative Painter, you're recognized. Thank you, Madam Speaker. Colleagues,
just wanted to bring awareness to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis month, or ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Unfortunately, I have a constituent in my district that is suffering from ALS disease and wanted to bring attention to this matter. Typically, it affects people between the ages of 40 and 60 years old, with death often occurring two to five years within diagnosis.
Unfortunately, there is no cure. The ALS Association has committed $162 million to help find a cure in the United States and across the world. Mr. Lyons, we see you, we hear you, we are praying for you, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Madam Speaker, please have the clerk read the resolution and title only. Madam
