two-part amendment. The first obviously removes K from 2011. To make it just 2011, that was a typo. The second part of this, which says there on page 16, delete line 2 and substitute this language on cost of attendance, this just ensures that the scholarship amounts awarded will only add up to the actual cost of attendance and won't go beyond that so that there's no profit over and above the actual cost of attendance. So with that, I'd appreciate a good vote. You've heard the

good questions raised about the money that we have set aside in the scholarship program for non-traditional and part-time students it was the intent of this legislature last year and the intent of lottery oversight that we have at least eight million dollars available in the course of writing the bill this year and working all the numbers we came to the conclusion we could do 12 million dollars so what this language does is sets that in black and white in the statute so that there's no confusion whatsoever there will be 12 million dollars set aside in this program specifically for nontraditional and part-time students and to put that in perspective for you we had a scholarship program it was a total of 20 million dollars and we're growing that obviously by by every dollar we're putting into this but 12 million dollars will go into nontraditional so that i appreciate

Members, I need to explain where we are in the process. You have an opportunity to make

a decision. We are still waiting for documentation from staff and joint budget committee on a supplemental calendar. I'm going to entertain an adjournment motion at this time by Representative Cooper. If you would like to hang around tonight and get this thing out of the way and possibly cut off another day from the session, we can do that. If you would rather go home right now and understanding that you may be asked to do some things later in the week that gets us finished on time, we will entertain that as well. But I'm going to leave that up to you. Are there any questions before I

Speaker 41 42:13
entertain this motion? Representative Lee. When you say later in the week, are you saying ending after Thursday, possibly running into Friday? Or what are you saying
▶ Play Suggest a correction Report an error
Speaker 42 42:23
there when you say end of the week? I think at this point, if we

Chair Unverified 42:29
want to finish this week, we're looking at going into Friday. If we stay late tonight, this supplemental calendar will remove an obstacle that could allow us to finish up on Thursday, but that may require us to suspend the rules on Thursday to get final passage of certain bills. Mr. Greenberg, you're recognized.

Question for the Speaker. It's the judgment of the Speaker that if we stay here longer tonight, then it's more likely that we'll finish

Chair Unverified 43:05
earlier? That is more likely. However, I cannot guarantee what time that supplemental calendar will be available. And that's the reason. And we've kept you here until 10 after 6 as it is. If I had known it would have been this long, we would have gone earlier. Representative Blount. Question, Mr. Speaker. You're recognized. When you say later tonight, what

It's, I mean, at least a half hour from now, so. Thank you. Sorry, members. Wrong button. I've just been informed by the staff that it would be at least 6.30 until that calendar is available for us to look at and vote. So you may factor that into your consideration. on voting on the motion that I now recognize Representative

After the announcements, reading of the bills, placing the calendars on the desk, amending members' own bills with their own amendments, members withdrawing their own bills, finalizing resolutions, reading communications, and any remaining committee reports, I move we adjourn until 1.30 tomorrow.
