Members were going to get started appreciate everyone being here were called to order commissioner warden you're welcome become the table. Glad to see such a great crowd here today. Folks I asked ask the commissioner to be here today just to kind of update us on some things are going on I don't anticipate there to be a lot of questions a commissioner you've been here total of allowing it was in a month yet. Eleven weeks sir okay well as we are glad to have you and appreciate the up you're coming to update us and you may go ahead. Thank you for the opportunity appreciate being here I have with me today mason camel who's our assistant commissioner for academic fairs at the division I just want to start back by saying how much it what pleasure it's been over the last level weeks to work with such a. A good group of folks who are who are are doing good work everyday vision hire and appreciate them for the work of your them in the. In the audience today but it's I can't. Never all to miss an opportunity to appreciate our staff that are working on every day to my car education better in arkansas we have a few slides before you today we're going to give an update on the architects off teacher academy that was a legislatively installed of the last session and talk a little bit about financial aid and give you an update on some numbers in harry credential production over the past year. In a fight understand that correctly you won't have any numbers on enrollments by a particular schools and some that detail you just don't have yet that correct so that's right our art fall enrollment numbers are not since its days left class day which will be still a couple weeks away from finalizing those love the stuff i'm giving you today is there solid numbers but they're not quite official yet there's that'll happen in september but I think we're close enough that I feel good okay about giving you that that on those credentials they'll be found you may be getting thank you. So let's let me begin by talking about the arkansas teacher academy you can see the slot there I don't want to read it to you but it was a scholarship designed to really incident of us. Um young people are or or non traditional students to enter the field of teaching and try to shore up some of the gaps that we have in the poplar and address the critical shortages areas in the state. So through this scholarship we will see that you're going to be eligible to receive eight semester of undergraduate enforcement masters of graduate aid which would take them up and through a master's degree to inner our our teaching team across the state the required to teach in arkansas but I would arkansas public school for every year of aid that they receive. We are still producing the rules on these the rules haven't been glass so this is a new scholarship the institutions have to request to be part of this that we hope to. Get the rules promigated and blessed between now in the end of the year. It to begin then broadcasting this publicizing it and award scholarships are first scholarships in the fall of twenty twenty four year of the fall of twenty twenty four. Members will take all the questions at the end of your presentation so if it was go ahead and finish it out then we will proceed then we'll ask questions at the end. All right thank you sir. Yeah. The next line is really without financial aid numbers and it's just really an update in twenty one twenty two we distribute over a hundred eight million dollars to approximately thirty two thousand students and although we haven't compiled the twenty two twenty three day yet already estimates indicate that we're on we're on on pace currently today we have extended awards to about thirty one thousand students with roughly four thousand students who are pending eligibility pending eligibility means they haven't submitted everything that we need to give down the award or yeah that's that's it's on in some cases we may have awards extended that have not been accepted through the institutional roster about the individual soldiers four thousand out there in limbo right now that we've already awarded thirty one of those not all of those were likely the pinning students will receive a word because some of those have to reward a might have decided to go out of state or otherwise so those won't be accept. Are credit to grease difficulties or a public institutions so this the numbers that you're going to see next are all argued psychologies college universities. Every year they submit their annual data file as which includes their credentials that were awarded again these are preliminary numbers as I said earlier but these are concredentials conferred between july first and june thirty of the past year so twenty two twenty three year. This is an infographic that you can see where the wear those awards were or granted by institution there's the numbers there it's a little bit small if you can see that I think you may have pronounced on your desk nor the larger the blue bubble the more rewards and credentials that were given in that institution. You know you look and around the state. It's a pretty bride swarth it's a pretty I would say that as a state as far as geographically geographic access we are we do a pretty fair job in access across the state of extending opportunities to our citizens through this many institutions that are really geographically dispersed. I. Relation to the certificates of professionally so certificate our professions he is between six in twenty one hours making that correct so it's a short term academic credential. Typically from a semester of full time work or less it could be a you know just six is as little as six credit hours. So we are you can see the trend line there were down slightly from twenty twenty two the. And the bottom you see the top three institutions warning certificates and proficiency in the us also see the top areas so the top areas awarded were health care welling machining and in mechanical repair and then the top institutions are black river are you a plastic taken as you knew port. The. Technical strift towards our twenty four two forty two credit hours and basing crackman forty five credit hours thank you. My eleven week attendant showing her guess so twenty two to forty five critical hours top three institutions plasky tech north rock on article community college as you knew port. Top three program health professions will ride the stances. Can't prepare technology. Again you can see we're down just a a little there twenty two to twenty three in though and that's a a one year degree by s. Associate rewards. Again taught through institutions and program areas this is a two year degree. And we do we do have some room for improvement but in most places we're doing better and better here over a year of stacking these credentials so that the the certificate of proficiency that's that six hour reward is not terminal it goes on to technical certificate or you may have two certificates of proficiency that make up a stack in the technology and then to an associate agree than on the batteries and that's what we really the model we're looking forward to pathways that you hear a lot about we're having students now rather than going four years out of the gate is starting finishing in four or five years they swirling out of education they pick up a credential perhaps and how paying job they get to the situation where they want to upscale they come back pick up another credential or higher academic ward what we want to organize though so that they they scaffled up not just spread across so that they're gaining hard case in attainment as they stack these credentials out. So that are that's lie that you see the social degree of wards. For two awarded at two year institutions or community college and two year institutions awarded these awards and then in the next slide you're going to see two associate degree awards awarded by for your institutions. So you see that their slightly up if you take the twenty two year the twenty three year and combine them to and for your institutions we're we're we're pretty flat the children we are down a little bit of awards about the two years up a little bit by the four years but the net net on a socially rewards is fairly even. Battery rewards you'll see we're training down since twenty twenty one so twenty two in the twenty three you know in twenty twenty one we awarded over fourteen thousand battery raise across the state and twenty twenty three it's only you know just just a touch over thirteen thousand of those. And you can see the institutions that where they're awarded and you can also see where the the program areas where they are a warning this is all of concerning to me I like to III can't say that it's calls or whatever at least correlation is a hang over effect from what happened in coverage of the participation that we saw those folks awarded getting the four year degrees that would be a at an early indicator or lagging effect because the covered participation delaying the battered reward and it not showing up for a couple years if that makes sense so i'm hoping that we see that start to try and back up you know in in it's it is a fact that in the last two years how to patient rate state of arkansas down fourteen percent which is probably driving some of this uh some of these numbers as well. So we're getting it to our graduate school awards here so you see your master's degree awards which are actually up in twenty twenty three. And you can see the institutions in areas that those are awarded there. Doctor or degrees. Are down the scouse. The scale is all hard because you know some of those larger rate producing fourteen thousand people this particular slides only representing four hundred on the upgrade and so natural research degrees are down a little bit. Um. And last were not least our first professional awards are ticked up a little bit from four thirty seven or seven thirty seven to seven forty eight. If you'll look at the the two program areas that awarded most were health professions those are medical doctors about large and in law degrees so we did a produce more indeeds last year then then the year before. The. The. It would those are. Numbers there are solid that I would fill in your questions. Yeah thank you going forward and I think we collect this information it's a good information that know how many degrees we awarded it's even better if we know how many have a job in that area going forward so I believe most of our hire ed institutions find add that information do you know yes or so one of the things i'm most excited about in this going on in across the state now as some of the data share agreements and the some of the work is going on in with rabbit regular his team where we are trying to lighting wage data back to degrees and and completion that's forthcoming II think they're going to roll out some of that data share and and and and an initial roll out of the system maybe you like this year I think it'll probably be you know eighteen minutes or beyond before we get that information triumulated so that it informs our decisions with a way we collect that data now is through that we were relying on the institutions to collect that data from their graduates at certain universals and then send that information to us the problem that with that scenario is that we have really low response rates on the surveys and as someone who tried to collect that data that was responsible for again programs we did everything from emails to phone calls to facebook to you name it to try to track down these folks once they live in our institutions but we can't force him to come back in response so the lowest balance rates is one concern and other concern is that the information is self report so i'm not saying anyone's lied about what they're doing currently but it might not be clean data and as clean as true as we could get from a wage data or even you know occupation codes of of the field area and so I think we're probably twenty four months out truly from being able to know where our graduates were and from post post graduation how many years out. How much they're making and where they're working and we've even extended some those data share agreements to touch states and so that are our border schools or were able to claim that for less than school and takes our can someone goes to work in texas I will maybe be able to pick up some of that data to so I appreciate it it's kind of surprises make as I believe a year to ago they presented that information as if it was accurate. So well it it i'm not saying it's it's inaccurate but it'd be more true form when we can come we can put it back to wage data and in tax returns those can those sort of things the economic security board that we publish every year is a good document if you haven't had time to look at that I highly suggest that we have that data every year on how many degrees are produced by institution and what the mean how many graduates they produce and then what the mean wages for those graduates across the decision so those that information that we share there's a lob dashboard that you can go look at as well as a report that's published annually and that report that he comes free court is required of all institutions that they give that to students when they apply to their institutions so when they apply they're given a packet of all that information to say here's the information on these degrees how many of them we produce and what you can expect to make after graduation so that's a good tool fall as closer I think that a lot of our students check that box like you do when apple singer the update on their privacy of the policy and maybe don't look at that but we do require that they get that information so you know if we can make a more globally red and impreciated that was a good thing now. Is there a chef to field you recognized thank you mr chair and good afternoon dark how you doing i'm doing very well thank you just want to say thank you publicly for taking time to visit with me about trying to increase the number of people who are taking advantage of the plethora of scholarships and we have available and a if they didn't choose to take advantage of it is not your fault but I am concerned about the depend the number of degrees simply because i'm hearing across the country that we have a diminishing number of males. Who are graduating from college is that true in the state of arkansas. I will say that there is a slide increase in the melting mail ratio so females are participating higher rates than males across the institutions. Is that up or down or is there just a constant so II would probably have to look at that director to get you that true to actual numbers but female participation has been rising over the last couple decades and and. The number year over year of mail to female I couldn't tell you but knowing that. Fourteen percent we're down fourteen percent of the last decade of participation that I would. A soon that were probably down in both but on an I don't know what the disproportion is between melon female but there are more females participating because it seems to be a national transit it is an actual trip and that you were in fear of manner are taking high are going to hire one of the things that you when I talked about was how can we make people more aware of what I can sell has to offer sporade airs scholarships and certification programs etc has your team been able to talk about their jacket back and forth so that we've come up with a plan because when we rolled out the lattery I mean we had the bands we had all of this and everybody knew we were come and and we're taking advantage of it and now I see absolutely nothing that says you know we have an our future you know we have a certification program or we can get you especially if your second year you don't do well on the first year with the nineteen if you get to five you can get a scholarship I don't see that happening in a I think we need to work more closely with our counselors cause i'm not seeing it with our keys coming out of high school nor am I seeing it if the carlish level. Young people are being a prize no you didn't do really really well on the nineteen ect but. You know i'm well in your studies and so therefore you can take advantage of it. I will say that the you know last month current division of current technology education was was organization was a line with the vision of higher education and rosses here and working with his team they've been doing some great work our career coach model has been around for a while but we're leaving heavier in the career coaches and you know the alignment between career coaches back to the higher education institutions is somewhere that some a place that I think we can really make a difference. Intrusive advising. For a students is very very important and early it happens to better. You know and and also when students understand what the difference is between their current financial situation and what it's going to take for them to participate sometimes all they hear is how expensive it is to go to college and from their block on their street you know they don't see themselves there and the financial burden may not be as much as they think so the sooner we can have a conversation with a young person about what it's going to cost them dollar dollars you know in hand to go to school and expose them to to more careers in pathways that they're interested in and i'm not talking about tracking students i'm talking about in giving them information so they can make informed decisions through that economic security report and all that I we are already having some good numbers out of our career coach program will we expect to have better numbers and better results from our career coach program I mean really there's a bottom line my bottom line for our career coaches is this. Go to your high school that so they work in a high school and their attached to a college or university. N. Do one thing you need to increase the number of students who are matriculating to college. Military apprentice year or highway yeah. If you do that then that's what we want you to do all the other things that are going on can be really good that the bottom line has to increase and so that's horrendous and with our career couches we've got some good people to go to work out there and so we're going to maybe set some expectations and try to continue to make that better what are you going to do to increase the knowledge of the public not just a career cultures and also to ensure there are colleges in universities were turning out what our universities were turning out of counselors. Oh aware of the job that they are to be doing. To enhance the participation in work force or in college readiness is there some point to do that and if so what is it so we commissions are studying a few months ago prior to my rabbit and we are getting the preliminary results of that study back that has recommendations for concurrent credit education and a lot of it is how you socialise that publicise that make people where nothing know what the opportunities that we know that if a student participates in good current credit they're forty percent more likely to go go on to college and sell we think there's some work to be done there we plan to get that's had that study finalized in present it to the coordinating board in october for distribution after that and i'm not saying that we were going to take all the recommendations of that study but we're going to look at those very closely and put down put in the arkansas dna on him and make a more own and then see if you are strategy about the things we can do internally the things that we're going to have to come back and ask your help in the next session to do and have a plan of action and so we hope to have that plan of action ready to go hopefully in january one but there's a lot of things dominant that have to fall and a lot of things we can do internally you know I will say this I feel really really good about our alignment as a department of education I think it it feels more line to me now then in prior years you know in some of theirs because you're seeing some of the effects of the reality of the government structured to one department those things I think that the effect of that is is being felt now so we're acting more like one system are kay twelve pieces and our learns in a prek to pre cater twenty really latino thank you after warrington thank you mister chair. Thank you soon to really good questions I think we're headed in the right direction I think this is going to be really good committee and that we're going to break some new ground there so thank you next is. Is that certain to hammer. Thank you thank you as shirt cup quick questions on the on the four year degree you dropped you during attention that those are down is that your expectation that does we're going to rebound then in a couple years with covered being behind us I think that's what you cited. Well I would say this that. Correlation causation or two different things and so with the study these are just wrong numbers and we really are totally. Sure what the cause of this year's you know I can't say for sure but I feel like you know any totally that this could be a a delayed co would affect on our four year degrees and were or hoping to see those trend up okay and then the certificates I noticed that the those seemed to be on the uptick am I interpreting that correctly and is maybe some of the reason that the bachelor's degree are down and the two year associates are up is because people are taken a shorter path to get into the career field than spend that four years and the bachelors are. You have anything that would I would I would say that's that's probably accurate I would also say that what we're seeing our institutions do a better job of chunking their curriculum so that they're able to find a way to give it a student and academic award more early in their economic venture and more often so that if they do leave for whatever reason to go to work we've already clocked them because if they leave without getting academic war is just a class or as or a series of classes that they had that when they come back may not be of any use of them academically on the venture or may not be able to put a bull on resume so the quicker we can put a bullet on someone's resume the better off the individual is in the better off the institution so at we've seen institutions do a better job of building their curriculum out so that it scaff it so it scaffles up and I think that's what you're seeing in the in the certificate awards and maybe with some of the son of why not all of some of why those have increased hope that makes sense it does an inless question is for those visits in a personnel if if we're seeing an added up the number I think it's like a drop of twelve hundred seventy two students from twenty one to twenty three for the batcher degree awards but yet hired keep coming and ask his for more positions for various things have you ever done a cold of color can't they work you ever matched up out the request are coming through personnel for position in higher edge versus the fact that the four year degrees are are down twelve hundred and seventy two. I have not but that would be something that we could look at you know and I know and i'm i'm fairly certain that has been done in the past but when we see a nick forward can come up he's on heat he's more familiar with our our finances okay thank you. If you would introduce yourself please and then you may respond nickfuller assistant director for finance harriet and center hammer this past personnel for the session we did reduce almost twelve hundred positions from the hired institutions out of their appropriation acts where they were they vacant or were they at the time of union they are vacant we we aren't seeing a big increase in the the field positions either okay but wait we are looking at every time the request is made whether we're offsetting it by reducing other places or anything so we're not continuing growing the overall number of positions on the campuses okay good thank you they miss you. Thank you miss chair thank you for being here doctor or not I have a hopefully a really quick question for you and and correlates maybe perhaps directly to the to the amount of degrees that are being converted I was in a meaning couple weeks ago with doctor robinson up and at the u va and he talked about the concerns over the number of students that are making application to the university and the potential continued drop in the number of the roman or potential enrollees do we have enrollment numbers at this point across the state I didn't see that in any of your packets for the higher institutions what about those numbers still trending okay or we see and downward transport as that look like so we don't have those numbered we will have them on the length class they so proud about a week and a half out from getting those and then there is some some things that have to be done before we can publish those for this fall i've visited a half dozen institutions in the last week. What I can say is some that i've talked to are seeing an upward tick in the freshman roman and we've had some several years of down a roman so when you're especially if you're a four year school it takes a little bit for an up or trend to catch up with you know three years of down numbers. I don't know exactly where we're going to end up and i'm very cautious to say it feels like we're going to be. Across the board I mean flat fed bill is already announced that they're up you know and they they would be able to advertise that there's some schools that are putting out some early numbers I know if you that are up in the few there are hours we're holding our own you know maybe just download but it feels like we're over on now we know that as a nation twenty twenty five and roman clinton's coming just back your birthday that looks like it's going to impact the door fees and the rust belt more than it's going to impact arkansas we're going to be just a skow small resilient to that effect you know and I would say that you know in a lot of indicators nationally that we tend to be a little less a volatile in a little less you know more flat in our in our trinkers so I think we're going to see that in in in higher participation but. I hope I would really hope that we would be just you know one tenth of one percent of would make me happy no one where we were we've been as a whole but it's yet to be determined. We'll have those numbers published in a couple weeks though okay thank you. The. Thank you mister chair on the hundred and eight million dollars for financial aid you have a breakdown of the how much money went to the financial were to four years in two year. I can get that prepared for yeah I don't have it please do in the last question is that is that an increase I know like from twenty nineteen twenty twenty or twenty eight to instead of increase decrease it is a slight decrease we've seen a slightly less utilization of the economy challenged over the past couple of years so we we've gone for in twenty twenty were about eighty five million dollars in what we ordinated in the challenge this pester was seventy four so we can see it a drop off on them we are hoping we've we've again that we extended the thirty one thousand awards for this coming year so that were hopeful that that will shoot back up closer to the thirty thousand we award okay thank you thank you mister chair. And central english you recognized thank you II think it's going to be interesting as we move down the road were aligning and doing career pathways secondary schools to see how that moves along to increase the certifications and the the degrees that are table time but but in a with with some end goal in mind it will be helpful to students to be able to say here is the current pathway I want to follow in and and we should see some results from there both both at the higher edge and if the servicing level. Guess may i. Is that all. Then springer square the way well i've got at the moment. Representative. Baby next if you push your button which will be the thirteenth. Did you want to be on okay if you push your button you'll be next at representative eighty. Thank you missed chairman doctor warned at just a question on page five of your hand out where you've got all the universe is listed on the graphic I understand it under you am we have the two skills of technology over in southeast arkansas that that void in the south east corner of the state where there were they're shown there's no educational institutions there would request it maybe we could add that to this infographic to have those institutions there's their bodily important to that region of the stay as well as did notate the number of degrees and certificates that come out of those two campuses that are there and and then a question do we have information on the wards of that I think this may follow up to some of the questions maybe send to hammer had in in some others on the on the graduation and and the car per morning information for starting pay for those graduates in and where they are in the work for some do we have that information that that we could we could tire back to those degree programs to to further highlight the importance of of the career technical pathway that we have their institutions so could you could yes some of that information yeah we do have that in idiots published in that economic screw report and and it is published by institution and both agree and now what it doesn't have the way at this point of the debts were working on it we think that's a key piece of information of where they are of their if they are taking their skills and going elsewhere they're staying in the state or how they're conducing so I do think that's a big deal and you are correct about that this ample graphic is a function of our higher education reporting system and though satellite canvases reporter through you AM and it's not the only it's not the only school on the map right that that that affect is happening in you know there are a few other instances. Where they'll sell like campus report through the one academic institution and you repeat set report on the economic but it's called the economic security report I think that was legislatively mandate in twenty seventeen if my memory service I think so it and and when you mention that I went to the website to look at the resources and reports and publications and I didn't see an online I mean it. So it it sounds like it's a pretty important report it had some information in but couldn't find it on the website so all I can do is own that and you are correct it's not is easily accessible you can google are concel economic security report i've done it several times in the look it will come right up and we are aware that that our website could use some all attention even just cataloging policies and things like that because it's not quite it is into it if so well we are looking at now trying to figure out the appropriate vendor or whether we try to do that in house and save some money to make it love better but I think being here eleven weeks me in the two table and a few others in the room of add this discussion many times about there's room for improvement in a website well not again my car meant stop please don't take them as me being critical because that and i'm a lot firm or when i'm being critical so I take criticism very well so it's okay so II think was this was maybe just a general nudge and and a question of because with the learns act and in some of the changes in here this career technical pathways could get violately important to you to arkansas in in especially in in rural south the start so there is a state we need a highlight that more in in publicise that more so that's that's more with the line of my questions whilst being a car yeah we'll be in a car mechanic by trade are bleed career technical education yes are thrown through and I couldn't agree more the fact the matter is it would no matter what measure you put out there we're behind we need more certificates we need more doctoral degrees but I think there are opportunities that are overlooked that we've done to ourselves as a society and he's even as hard to case in general about not really showcase and opportunities and where they are now will we get this way to information i'll tell you one thing that young people understand at the other day that it's paycheck and I think we are able to show. The correlation from the degree to the wage to locate on the job and where it is and able to publicize that the right way marms and dads will understand that and so and that may remove some of the. Separating of of more white color job blue color jobs and and degrees that are sound to those like again congratulations on the eleven week mark and we should the best of the future keep up the good work it's been fast and furious but it's been a it's been a lot of fun we've got. I think that with a few fundamental changes and the way we do business that we can make some big differences and big gains in the state I don't think we have to have a really complex scheme to do that I think there's the foundation of things that we can do that in the coming months we're going to talk a lot more about that's gonna that's good I improve our state this time I recognize my co chair representative to focus in did you have a question yes I have a quick question not to worry I noticed in the your first bullet port arthur's out teachers are cattling I think you mentioned that the this program the rules have learned been promoted yet but you did mention that all the four year institutions would have to apply correct so if that institution did not apply at all we're not approved then the students have those institutions could not benefit from this program. That that is correct it's going to be this opportunity is not a secret already our teacher prep programs and those schools are aware of this and I think most of them are eagerly awaiting but will do a gap analysis early on on those who have summary their applications and be sure that they they get multiple are communicated in multiple modes and in multiple times to make sure that that we encourage them to get in here and take advantage of this optimally had one will quite question you may that have the answer to this bird is there enough money for all about four year institutions to participate in this probably so nice if i'm wrong I think that you tell me earlier today that that the initial funding for that program was twelve million dollars yes there's twelve me and that is in the restricted reserve set aside from this past session to fund the initial alignment of scholarships so I think what will do is see how many people take colleges yeah college is how many students take advantage of their and see where that leaves this after this first you know year or so to figure out if if it's working for getting the interest in the results we want and then see if we need how we need to do a just funding accordingly if it if it is in fact thank you. I appreciate your patience no problem i've learned to be patient of the years good afternoon thank you very much for the opportunity there's questions I am impressed with this report in their you we are given awards to teachers to become teachers and to help curve a workers to become nurses and cna's and that sort of thing and I think this goals in line would but i've heard of the past week or so about our shortages in the areas of nurses cna's teachers and I believe you also indicated that it's gonna be at least twenty four months before you're able to determine or the graduates are going to go or they're going to be as far as. Ugh education in their use of a just mentioned we won't know who they are in where they are for another twenty four months is that correct so if I could have flip that switch several years ago I would have a not owning that process and just being answered to it I make promises but it feels like from the implementation to having this data put in the place where it's more globally ready and usable II don't want to say twenty four months that I wish mark riders were in the room are our word for chief though he could come in on that but you know I think the early rollout is not going include all of those metrics at one time so I think it's going to grow and become more robust in six months twelve months but we will have some yes I just don't want I just don't want to overpromise at this completely understandable the idea is is that we are called growing these individuals to assist with our work for serious and seller I think that's the main point is this the point I wanted to help me that we are trying to address those could concerns war or kensingtor in the state zap is that true wouldn't you agree yes mate i'm thank you all right thank you hello she had one of your coherence is not had an opportunity to speak yet if you like to introduce yourself in your position going. Thank you senator mason campbell assistant commissioner for a activity fires just privileged to be here and they can agree with everything that's been said so far absolutely okay thank you members the last item there is other business this seems like a short announcement but it's very important we are looking at d I and how it is embedded in some of our policies and curriculum we've studied there we have some information that will be coming out in a couple of weeks where those dei statements are in policy we met with our lot of our higher red folks just a few minutes ago and we all agree we're going to work together to do this so this is not different individual project but we're going to work together to make sure that they think that we do are based on merit and need that's the primary purpose of this we might students do to achieve with what are our staff on our folks to be on the same page on this so we will be working with all the iran folks the governor's office to work in that direction and we have set out survey to the universities they are completed that survey as of yesterday and as soon as we pull that information together we'll get it out to all of our I read folks and to people on the committee and they were going to come back and discuss that and how it impacts are curriculum out impacts our students so no decisions have been made this is all just a steady right now i'm not in prepared to take many questions but i'll try if you have some because again we're going to gather the information first and once we have the information accurate they will talk about what we're going to do think about having questions you have to fail your recognition thank you miss situated you tell me who we. That would be all the legislature. No will be all the legislation is coming from legislation if you pay us i'm i'm trying to get the origin of it is it from a committee or was it from senator house action. What is the origin of this. What if they ordered in the origin was as with I think all legislation that legislators had concerned and people outside the legislature had concerned about dei in our policies and in our procedures and then legislators. Including me so down the chair and i'll be kind of leading this discussion our concern about that that we're not actions are not necessarily based to find merit and need so the we is u and. The me the way is well I think april used with several times issued it the royal way you're part of the way nah i'm not that way well i'm inviting you to be a part of the way you can not take the invitation letters later if if the executive are they legislator branch that comes up with legislation was there a legislative just trying to figure out is this from an inner on sturdy is it from specific legislation that was based on sale i'm trying to specific legislation that'll be coming forward and twenty twenty five case not predicated on actions that we've taken in the past the section you enter speed taking in the future yes and there are several states already that have very similar legislation that will be working with in order to draft the legislation but this body the high red committee is going to have a lot to say about that interaction as well our universities and I read folks about what that legislation looks like specifically and we will try to roll that out. As soon as we can one of the things we have quit using way one of the things that I want to do is to make sure whatever information we put out there is accurate and clear. So the folks it have access to that information will be able to get back to me specifically to make that happen now I and this committee will be working jointly with senator hammer and JPR. Because JPR works a lot with. Um this similar issues. So we'll have some joint meetings and will have some individual meetings on both sides on this. The other questions are comments thank you and no for the business we are journal.
