Chair. It is certainly a privilege to have this opportunity to come and recognize such a great team of young ladies and their accomplishment at Mansfield High School. I think what is really special about this is the fact that the Mansfield volleyball team has won the last five out of six years state championship in volleyball. The fact that four of those came in 2A and then the last one that they won this year is when they moved up to 3A shows that they're real competitors. and that they've got the kind of heart and discipline that it takes to win year in and year out. And they not only won it, they dominated 3A, 14-0, Russian records all through the state. Even in the championship game, they set a Russian record there as well. It was an amazing performance, an amazing year. I'm not surprised. I am not surprised at all. coach overton who come from a very successful program in boonville arkansas and a lot of people wondered why he would go to mansfield who it wasn't a bad program you know kind of an average football program but then had never been close to a state championship he decided to take that chance because he believed in himself and he believed in the the team and the staff and the parents and administration that he could build something special there and he has and I think his success will continue the school they have really gotten behind these young men and have helped them achieve this the community is unified behind them as well as the volleyball team they support all their sports and so it's just proud to be able to stand here and recognize what those young men achieved because, again, I can only say that they didn't only win, they dominated. to present your resolution. Thank you, Madam Speaker. We went through this yesterday before session and And there's really no words that I have to add to what was said yesterday other than these men and women and what they do is amazing. But the one thing I think we forgot to talk about yesterday during this resolution is the kids and the spouses they leave behind when they're called out. When all of the rest of us get to stay home with our loved ones. they have to leave their loved ones and go make sure that our lights come on or our cable comes on or whatever the case. I think sometimes we forget those folks, and I would just want to know that they have not wanted to notice with me, and I know what those spouses and children go through. But with that said, utility line workers, they work hard every day to make sure that when we flip the switch the lights come on and to put things back together when the storm damage the systems and interruptions power this is simply amazing and on behalf of my colleagues in the Arkansas House of State Representatives thank you for your grit and determination and all that you do every day for the people of the state of Arkansas. men and women who serve as utility line workers build and maintain electric, telephone, cable television, and fiber optic lines, and whereas line workers are often first responders during storms and other catastrophic events, working to make them the scene safe for other public safety heroes, and whereas line workers work with thousands of volts of electricity high atop of power lines 24 hours a day 365 days a year to keep electricity flowing and whereas line workers often work under dangerous conditions away from their families to construct and maintain the energy and infrastructure of this state and whereas line workers put their lives on the line every day with little recognition for the community regarding the danger of their work and whereas it is most fitting in the proper that the line workers of Arkansas be recognized for their effective and dedicated service to the people of the state of Arkansas now therefore be it resolved by the house of representatives of the 95th general assembly of the state of Arkansas that the House of Representatives proclaim April 21st, 2026 as Arkansas Line Worker Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and commend on behalf of their constituents the men and women who serve Arkansas as utility line workers for their efforts in keeping the power on and protecting public safety. Representative Pierce, would you like to close for your resolution?
