your district. Representative Steve Hollowell, District 37. I have a resolution that is to recognize the Mark Tree High School Indian basketball team as the 23-24 Class A-1 basketball state champions and to recognize Coach Barbara Wilburn Covington her accomplishments as the head basketball coach

of the boys' basketball team. So I'd appreciate a good vote. How long has
Speaker 5

Coach Covington been in that position? I think
she's been there about 20 years. Yeah, that's a pretty impressive what's going on there. She won

the state championship once before, but this is her second time. That's great. All right, any questions from the
committee? What's the will of the committee? Got a motion. Do pass. All in favor, say aye. Aye. All right. All right. Thank you, committee.
Thank you, Representative Hollowell. All right, next up, House Resolution 1037. Representative Hawk,

you are recognized. Thank you. Good afternoon, committee. Two resolutions today. One, the first one representing the women's basketball team of John Brown University as the Sooner Athletic Conference champions. and that on a winning streak this year of 26 consecutive wins and 28-3 overall, with one of their players being recognized
as the most outstanding player of the championship tournament. So I wanted to run two to recognize both the women and the team members and also the head coach, and that will be the next one. Okay. Well, we'll take the first
one first. Do we have any questions from the committee? Will of the committee? Got a motion. Do pass. All in favor, say aye. All right. That's great. Congratulations there to John Brown's team. Now let's move on to House Resolution 1038.

Thank you. House Resolution 1038 is to recognize the John Brown University women's basketball head coach, Jeff Sodequist. He is retiring this year after 27 years as the women's basketball coach, but 36 years at the university and in the Department of Athletics. He's been a wonderful head coach, witnessed by a lot of success, not only on the basketball court, but also the women's athletic teams in their academic pursuits and beyond.
and just wanted to have a separate resolution that would recognize his dedication and commitment both to scholar-athletes and to the university. I see he's been there since 1988 in one
fashion or another there as a student and as a coach, and 424 wins. That's awfully impressive. Very much so. Thank you. Any questions from the committee? What's the will of the committee? Got a motion. Do pass. All in favor, say aye. Aye. All right. Thank you, Representative Hawk.
All right. We will move on down to House Resolution 1039. Representative Walker, you are

And I'd like to make a motion at the appropriate

time. Okay. Any questions from the committee? All right. Let's hear
your motion. Do pass. All right. We've got a motion to do pass. All in favor say aye. Aye. Okay. Thank you, Representative Walker. House Resolution 1040. Representative Hudson, you are recognized. Isn't that

pretty cool? Yeah. All right. Ashley Hudson, State Representative, District 75.
I bring you a resolution today to recognize my constituent, Jennifer Maughan. Many of you may have watched her on MasterChef last year, where she did Arkansas and the South Proud by being the runner-up on this nationally televised TV show. she is also a mother she's got five kids that she is taking care of she is a proud graduate of Pulaski Tech she went back to school when she turned 40 and started the second culinary career and is just a really incredible and and talented and gifted woman she has for years had her own
line of she's done some designer housewares and some other things she just started a spice line that is manufactured and put together in Fordyce, so she's a real Arkansas girl who's been trying to bring a lot of positive attention to the state, and she has also used that fame to benefit a lot of our really beloved non-profits like the Heart Association and St. Jude's, among others, and has raised almost $100,000 in the past year by letting people auction off some of the dinners that she
does in people's homes after the success of MasterChef. So I had spoken to her. She's very excited about it. I thought it'd be fun for her to bring the kids down and get to celebrate their mom.
That's fabulous. I see she has credits Pulaski Tech culinary program. They've got quite a program there. A lot of folks have benefited from that. Yeah, and it is

an amazing program, and I can attest to the fact that she makes some amazing pastries. She put together these things called I love you cakes on Valentine's Day that were phenomenal. Good deal. Have any questions
Speaker 27

from the committee? Representative Parker? Thank you. Would you, this is my question, would you ask her or tell her for me thank you for using Fordyce for her
manufacturing? I sure will. Yeah, absolutely. All right. Any other questions? What's the will of the committee? Got a motion to do pass. All in favor say aye. Aye. All right. Thank you, Representative Hudson. Thank you, committee. All right. House Resolution 1041.

Representative Steimel, you are recognized. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Trey Stimel, District 2, State Representative. I sit
here before you for House Resolution 1041 to recognize the Mammoth Spring Lady Bears on their 23-24 state championship, and to add to that, they are back-to-back state champions. And one other thing that's kind of crazy about this is they were so good, and they get tired of being 1A. They moved them up to 2A. So another accomplishment there as well is, you know, I'd like to add to that. So just I would ask for a motion to do pass from the committee. All right.

Any questions from the committee? Yes, sir.

Representative Richardson. Where is Mammoth Springs? It is a border town with Missouri. So literally the town touches Missouri border. You step across and it's there Missouri. So it's pretty unique in nature. There's not many towns that touch the Missouri border or any other borders in the state of Arkansas. So very unique in nature. Also I believe it's the 10th largest spring in the world. So if you've never been up there, we have a lovely state park and I would invite everyone to take a leisurely drive north for almost everyone
in here to go visit the state park and the community. It's a great community.
Thank you for the question, Mr. J. All right. Thank you. Any more questions? What's the will of the committee? Got a motion to pass. All in favor say aye. Aye. All right. Thank you, Representative Steimel. Thank you. All right. Next up, House Resolution 1042, Representative Rose,
Representative Ryan A. Rose

you are recognized. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Ryan Rose, State Representative from District 48, Van Buren and Fort
Smith here to present House Resolution 1042 to condemn the displays of anti-semitism on university campuses across the United States. That is the resolution. I could read through it in its entirety. I apologize for not having an opportunity to speak to committee members beforehand. I'm filling in for Representative Pilkington, who is double-booked right now, but I'd be more than happy to take any questions. Any questions from the committee? What's the will of the committee?
Got a motion. Do pass. All in favor say aye. Aye. Any opposed? Thank you very much. Representative Rose. Thank you, Chair. Thank you, Committee. All right. Thank you. Seeing no further business, we are almost adjourned in the sense that we might have one more meeting before this session ends. All right. All right. We are adjourned.
