Thank you, Mr. Chair, RJ Hawk, District 81, um, today, I want to bring you House resolution 1064. Um, this is a resolution to honor, um, not only the University of Central Arkansas's greatest basketball player of all time, but also one of the National Basketball Association's greatest basketball players of all time, Scottie Pippen. Um, so Scotty has, he was born in Hamburg, Arkansas back in 1965, and to this day has never been honored by the legislature or by any other sports athletic group in the state and um so I I felt like it's time, um, the NBA just named him one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all time, uh, for his time with, uh, Michael Jord Gordon and the Chicago Bulls, uh, and, and it's a pretty remarkable story if you think about it. Out of Hamburg, Arkansas, uh, did not have one basketball scholarship. Uh, he, he was in an all-state basketball player, uh, didn't get looked at by anybody. In fact, uh, Coach Dyer and and folks at UCA, they said, you know what, you can come to UCA, but you're gonna be a manager. And he was 6 ft tall at the time when he came to UCA and he was in there practicing with the basketball team as the student manager Waterboy essentially, and And they said, you know what, we're going to give you a spot to try to make the team. And he did, and in 4 years, he went from 6 ft tall to 6'7, and was a first round draft pick. He he was the 5th pick in the 1st round of the NBA draft. And so, uh, the rest is history after that. So I felt like, uh, you know, we honor a lot of people, um, at the house, but we've never honored the single greatest basketball player to ever come out of the state of Arkansas. And so, wow, we're gonna do that on Thursday if this committee will. Wow. I would never have guessed that either, that we'd be the first to honor them, so I'm glad you brought this. Um, do we have anybody with questions? OK, um, is there anybody from the audience that is here to speak for or against the resolution. Saying none, we have a motion do pass by Representative Allen. Would, would you like to close right, he's closed for the most now we have the motion to pass, um, all in favor say aye, all oppose, say no. Hey, congratulations, you passed your resolution. Thank you. I, um, next, without objection, we'll do house resolution 1,063 by Representative Rose. um, when you get to the end of the table, introduce yourself and you can start. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you committee. Representative Ryan Rose, District 48, Van Buren Fort Smith presenting a House resolution 1063. Uh, this is a resolution to recognize and honor the 30th anniversary of the kidnapping of Morgan Nick and the work that the Morgan Nick Foundation has done. Just a couple of quick things I'd like to share from inside the resolution. Uh, June 9th, 1995, 6 year old Morgan Chantelle Nick was kidnapped from a little league baseball game in Alma, Arkansas, in a massive state and federal law enforcement investigation ensued and continues to this day as Morgani remains missing. Morgan's mother, Colleen Nick formed the Morgan Nick Foundation in 1996, an organization's gone on to do a number of great things and through Colleen's uh outstanding leadership and her team, the foundation assists thousands of families in crisis, and they successfully provide intervention, support, and reunification to children and their families. Uh, the Morganic Foundation works collectively with the Arkansas State Police and many other agencies across the country to recover missing. exploited children and adults. In January of 2025 alone with the support of the Morgan Nick Foundation, the Arkansas State Police testifies that they have successfully recovered 16 missing children in Arkansas, and last year their partnership resulted in the recovery of 82 children. In addition to that, Colleen Nick was invited to meet with former President George W. Bush, former first lady, uh, Laura Bush to discuss missing exploited children in methodology and recovery. And the final thing I want to say is the resolution states that I would love to see the House of Representatives recognize Colleen Nick and the Morgan Nick Foundation on the 30th anniversary of the kidnapping of Morgan Nick and uh to recognize them for their tireless, tireless efforts in the prevention and recovery of missing and exploited children and that we appreciate their assistance to missing exploited children and families all across the state and all across our country. I'm open to any questions. Thank you. Do we have any questions by the committee? Saying none, is there anybody in the audience um signed up to speak for or against the bill, a resolution, sorry. Saying none, are you clothes for your resolution. Uh, thank you, Mr. Chairman. Appreciate this committee and appreciate a motion to pass and a good vote. And do we have a motion, um, Representative Richmond has a motion to pass all in favor say aye. All oppose. Congratulations, Representative Rose, you have passed your resolution. Thank you committee. At, um, alright, um, now we'll go back to the top of the agenda, House resolution 1060, um, representative Carr, you introduce yourself and you can start. Joey Carr, District 34. I'm here for, uh, House resolution 1060 on behalf of Representative Acer, and that is to commend the Mamel Charter High School Falcons boys golf team for winning the Class 3A state championship, and with that, I'm, I'm closed. Is there any questions about the committee? Saying none, is there anybody that's signed up to speak for or against the resolution. Saying none, are you closed for your resolution? Yes, Mr. Chair. Do we have a motion? All right, Representative Allen made a motion to pass all in favor say aye. I suppose I know. Congratulations, Representative Carr. You have passed House Resolution 10,060. Um, next we have house concurrent resolution 1007. um Representative Carr, introduce yourself for the record and you may proceed, uh, Representative Joey Carr, District 34 on behalf of Representative Painter House. Uh, resolution 1007 to encourage the United States Congress to reevaluate the Medicare physician fee schedule locality structure and ensure accurate geographic costs indices for the metro metropolitan Statistical areas of the state. Do we have any questions by the committee? Sean or anybody in the audience I'd like to speak for or against resolution, saying 9, are you closed? Uh, yes sir, it closed, and make a motion to pass. All right, we have a motion to pass by Representative Carr, all in favor say aye. I pose. Congratulations, Representative Carr, you have passed the concurrent resolution 1007. We'll just go on. Um. We'll just let him do the rest. Um, next, on the, without objection, let's move to House Resolution 1061. Representative Carr. You can, um, introduce yourself to the record and you may proceed. Uh, Representative Joey Carr, District 34, House Moral Resolution 1006 to remember Arkansas artists and educator Stacy Bates for her talent. And for inspiration and guidance she provided to future generations, it's um resolution 1061 by Representative painter. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, you're fine. 1,061. Yes. OK. House Resolution 1061, uh. Not to recognize a mountain Home Bombers High School indoor track team as Class 5A state champions on behalf of Representative Painter. And with that, uh, Motion to pass, is there any questions by the committee saying no, is there anybody that would like to speak for or against the resolution, saying none. Are you closed for your resolution? Yes, yes, sir. Representative Carr made a motion to pass. Is there any discussion on the motion, seeing none, all in favor say aye. I'll oppose. Congratulations, Representative Carr, you passed passed House resolution 1061. Uh, um, next on the agenda is Senate concurrent resolution number 4 by Representative Richardson, if you would like to introduce yourself and you can proceed. Good morning, Jay Richardson, District 49. Um, today I bring to you the Senate concurrent resolution to recognize former representative and state senator Joyce Elliott, uh, we tried to do this doing Black History Month, but we, we were able now to move it in recognition of Women's Month, um, so just one quick thing I wanted to identify a couple, um, she attended an all-black oak grove Rosenwald school where she was a top student, then she took advantage of an opportunity to attend recently desegregated Willisville High School. Beginning attendance there in 1966 when she was in grade 10. Um She worked closely with uh then Senator Shane Broadway to produce education programs affecting equal and adequate funding in the wake of the 2002 holding in Lakeview School District number 25 versus Huckabee, and she also at times worked closely with then Governor Michael Dale Huckabee on education-related issues. Senator Elliott was a strong advocate for her community, for her people, and specifically education and with that I am closed for this concurrent resolution and move due pass. Thank you. Is there any questions by the committee, seeing none. Is there anybody in the audience I'd like to speak for or against resolution, saying none, Scott Richmond's closed for the resolution and makes a motion do pass. Is there any discussion on the motion, seeing none, all in favor, say. Sorry, uh, Representative Richardson, that's all right. We look just alike. I apologize. Um, anyway, all in favor say aye. I oppose. Congratulations, Representative Richardson, you have passed your resolution. I didn't even catch you. Where I own a house memorial resolution 1006. Representative Walker, please identify yourself for the record and then you may begin. Representative Stephen Walker from District 27. So I have, um, for Representative Graham Lick House Memorial resolution 1006 to remember Arkansas artists and educator Stacy Bates for her talent and kindness and for the inspiration and guidance she provided to future generations, and with that, I'm closed and make a motion to pass. Are there any questions, seeing no questions, there's no one signed up to speak for or against the bill. Representative Walker has made a motion to pass all in favor say aye, oppose no, congratulations your house memorial resolution 1006. Thank you. And with that, seeing no further business, this committee is adjourned.
