We have one item to take up today house bill one zero zero four just far as housekeeping we just apologize for having to have you come all the way over here for what is going to be a very short bill presentation but my understanding is that the live streaming equipment was not quite up the. And ready for in room one forty nine and we want to certainly be open accessible to the public for them to be able to view our
proceedings so we are ready now for presentation by representative Dalby of house bill one zero zero four and a representative if you have any witnesses that you'd like to call the table feel free I think I'm good thank you Mr chair okay where you're you're identified recognized to present thank you Mr chair members of the committee this is really a very simple bill the original bill came before you during the regular session what happened is there was a drafting error what happened was the it expired it
was replacing the old small business entity tax through a tax pass through act and that was to in July in July the twenty eighth of this year because that would be ninety days after we got out of session the problem is is in the new bill it didn't become effective until September first so we have a gap in there and all this bill is doing is reconciling that gap so that if any new entities were filed during the gap they will be recognized any actions that
they took during that gap period would be fine would be recognized and it is now bringing it all to where everything becomes effective September the first this new bill we pass it or the corrective actions we pass January first twenty twenty two will be in effect I'll be happy to take any questions. Members are there any questions of. Our presenter hello. Is there anyone in the public that wishes to speak for or against the bill.
If not a recognized representative Lundstrum for motion I'm do pass a motion of do pass for the committee and now's the time for any discussion that we might wanna take and seeing that there's no discussion all those in favor of the motion of do pass signify by saying aye aye any opposed say no. There there's always one in every group. Thank.
Senator wouldn't representative wouldn't had to add a little intrigue will representative Dalby your your bill has passed congratulations thank you Mr chair thank you members of the committee okay members let me also I had been asked of to look into whether or while we are at the meeting for this very short amount of time if we could take up a pending I. S. P. and I have I pretty much knew what the answer was and but I did check
with Buddy Johnson he said that ISPs typically would be adopted by a joint committee of insurance commerce in as an interim process so we would will not be taking that up but we will be to let me just by way of announcmenet let you know that we will be scheduling after the first of the year a meeting of insurance and commerce to adopt that I. S. P. I'm also going to ask that we have some someone from the insurance department or or even invitations to go out to
the industry it's been brought to my attention that there's at least one insurance company that as the as a practice for instance in doing home repairs or roofing repairs they are not paying on replacement costs which is been typical of traditional and as you know construction of materials the cost has been has gone up dramatically in the last year so we're going to ask for a report
from the industry on that that particular aspect if you have any other issues you'd like for us to take up in a joint meeting please let myself for Senator Pitsch now. Is there any other business before the committee. Well before we adjourn let me just make a housekeeping announcmenet and it is to a reminder for members and the public for security purposes access to the fifth floor of this building V. of the stairwell in the
elevators is for legislative members only all members of the public must exit the building access the fifth floor via the main entrance in order to go through our security. I will entertain a motion to adjourn. Representive would inspect a motion and there's a second all
