Legislative research okay you recognize the start restaurant so at your last executives that committee meeting you asked that the bureau and draft procedures for study regarding far arms and concealed carry laws to be conducted by the game and fish staples subcommittee of legislative council you should all have a copy of those draft procedures in your bolder and i'll just hit a couple of the half weeks and the way these are drafted this study would begin in october of this year with that sub committee and we've listed out various topics that would be a part of the study this was based on that last meeting as the sub committee where they discussed theirs we went back and watched. The meeting again and pulled those topics from there so if there are any that you want to add we can do that before you adopt them and then once the subcommittee has finished its study it is required to report back to their subcommittee executive by october first of twenty twenty four with its finding and funding recommendations draft bills. And then executive will have october in november to look at those and determine which recommendations you want to send along to legislate council as the final report. So I would take any questions there or any provisions that you want to make to this any questions on the rules themselves or the draft. On monday of this week was the deadline to receive proposals for this education facilities and consultant at this committee is going to look at hiring we received three vendor proposals and i'm currently in the process of reviewing all of those doing the summaries that I always give to you all and we're checking no references. And i'll have bounders ready with all the the documents for the subcommittee. The friday before labor day september first around there and the tarm line that was in the anticipated you coming back and having two meetings where one is where you select up to three vendors to come back and make oral presentations to you and then the second one is hearing from those vendors. Looking at the time frame for getting the contract in place policy making a scheduled on september fourteenth and counsels that fifteen th. There's really time just for one meeting of the subcommittee because you're have to have that during labor day week so I just need to know if you would like to about all three of those at this time we haven't gone through that am. And then I also need a meeting date to be able to let them know am typically you allow one hour time slight for each thing to make a presentation to you with them giving thirty minutes for their presentation and then you have time for questions if that still works that's what we would do and and then you would vote that day to pick a consultant for us to move forward with in a contract so and the available times and there are several meetings scheduled that week of labor day if that's what you end up looking at but it looks like the education committees are meeting that tuesday on wednesday you could schedule around that or am then leg audit comes in on thursday and friday so. Alright so moving into the discussion of the security walk reconstruction contract recognize more to guarantee the director thank you martigarity with the bureau of legislative research I can before you we've had several steps in this process the first was to engage we are for architectural engineering services there was an rap for the construction of the security walkway as well as the mechanical room as combined not combined projects but projects that we're going to happen at the same time king go one the rfp and then they entered into negotiations in terms of the price looking at the not negotiations but looking at the actual construction cars um we are came in originally at three point nine million a little over three point nine million for the construction costs king goes estimates were originally five point two which is significantly more the narrow lowered that down in early august to four point four and then after we had a meeting a couple weeks ago and revised some of the plans working with secretary of state's office the final cast estimate is three point eighty seven million dollars. Which is lower than the original estimate and this falls within the bureau's budget to current budget to manage this project so at this point. In and members i'm going to point out and i'm hoping other members are watching this and will watch it before we move forward this month he's been appropriate to since two thousand and seven if my memory surgery two thousand nine and this is not moving any money out spinning money that wouldn't already appropriate it and this will be paid out in two are being a buy any on set so your use a two million appropriation one year and then basically the two million appropriations for the following year so all you're doing today is approved in this contract which still has to go to policy for final review you're not actually spending any money or moving any money so with that or or any questions for no members.
